Hawkins led the AMCC last week in scoring, averaging 26.0 points per game. Hawkins started out the week with a career-best 30 points in a 100-110 loss at #21 Wooster. Hawkins followed that up with a 29 point, six assist effort against Buffalo State. He wrapped up the week with a 19 point, six assist effort against Morrisville St, helping head coach Keith Hack get his first career win as a head coach. On the week, Hawkins shot 51.1% from the field, 46.2% from three-point range and 81.8% from the free throw line. He also averaged 5.0 assists per game and 2.0 steals per game. Hawkins was also named to the Buffalo State Coles Classic All-Tournament Team.

Hilbert College men’s basketball student-assistant coach Matt Hartman (’21) spent the end of July rubbing elbows with some of college basketball’s top coaches at the first annual NCAA College Basketball Academy at the University of Connecticut.

The Hamilton College (24-4) men's basketball team erased an 11-point lead and scored six of their final eight points from the free-throw line to defeat Penn State Behrend (23-5) 72-70 in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Division III Tournament on Friday night.

The Medaille College and Franciscan University men's basketball teams saw their seasons come to a close this evening as they both lost in the first round of the ECAC Tournament. Medaille fell to Marywood University 89-77, while Grove City College defeated Franciscan 73-60.

La Roche College senior guard Zach Gould has been named the 2019 AMCC Men's Basketball Player of the Year.

Gorny recorded double-digit points during the AMCC Tournament, scoring 13 in the semifinals and a team-best 14 in the championship game. The senior shot 50 percent from the floor and three-point range, while grabbing 11 total rebounds. Gorny scored the Lions final six points in the title game to help Behrend hold on for the win.
