  • Kylei Martin, Penn State Altoona, Women's Soccer (Defensive)

    Martin helped lead Penn State Altoona to a pair of shutout wins last week while also recording an assist in each victory. In Tuesday night's 1-0 win over Mount Aloysius at home, she assisted on the Lions' lone goal to defeat their nearby conference rival in their last game of the regular season. In Saturday's 5-0 win over Alfred State at home in the first round of the AMCC Tournament, she picked up another assist on her corner kick. Martin's defensive effort also helped limit Mount and Alfred State to a combined eight shots on goal, keeping both teams off of the scoreboard.

    Roman helped lead the Lions' attack in a pair of home wins last week, including scoring her first collegiate hat trick in her team's AMCC Tournament first round win. After recording one shot on goal in Tuesday night's 1-0 victory over Mount Aloysius, she scored three goals -- including the game-winner -- while placing five shots on goal to lead the way in a 5-0 triumph over Alfred State on Saturday afternoon.

    #3 Penn State Altoona and #4 Mount Aloysius College both earned victories in the First Round of the AMCC Women's Soccer Championship Tournament. The Lions picked up a 5-0 win over #6 Alfred State College while the Mounties earned a 3-0 victory over La Roche University.

    Santia made two starts and had three points on the week with a goal and an assist. Defensively, she helped keep both opponents scoreless, while holding the opposing teams to a total of three shots on goal. On offense, she had her second goal of the season off a free kick and also scored an assist on a crucial goal against La Roche with a cross.
  • Mallorie Smith, Penn State Altoona, Women's Soccer (Offensive)

    Smith had a big week in a pair of AMCC road wins, including setting two new all-time team records. In Wednesday night's win at Carlow, she scored two goals and added two assists to move into first place on the Lions' all-time points list. She followed that up with two more goals and an assist in Saturday's victory at Pitt-Bradford, when she became the women's soccer program's all-time leading goal scorer. On the week, Smith scored four goals and recorded three assists. She also attempted 24 shots, putting 14 on goal.

  • Julianna Hornikel, La Roche University, Women's Soccer (Defensive)
    October 21, 2024
    Hornikel was stellar in net for La Roche this past week, going 2-0-0 as the Redhawks move into playoff contention with those two victories. In Tuesday's 5-0 victory over Carlow, Hornikel picked up her second clean sheet of the season, making both saves that came her way across 45 minutes in net. In Saturday's 1-0 blanking of Alfred State, Hornikel earned her third and second consecutive clean sheet, playing all 90 minutes and stopping all five shots that came her way.
  • Trinity Prestash, Penn State Behrend, Women's Soccer (Offensive)

    Prestash averaged 2.5 goals per game in a 2-0 week for the Lions. She tied a career-high with four goals in the win at Alfred State and then netted the eventual game-winner in a 5-0 decision at Penn State Altoona. Prestash has 58 career goals and is eight away from breaking the program record.

    Bailey was instrumental in two AMCC shutouts this week, holding Pitt-Bradford to a pair of shots and the Mounties without a shot. The defender also scored her first collegiate goal in a 4-0 win over Mount Aloysius.

    Hargather totaled two goals and one assist in last week's matchups against Hilbert and Carlow. She took five shots on goal and totaled five points on the week. Her shot percentage for the week was 40%, with her shot on goal percentage being 80%.

    Baustert had two shutouts in a 1-0-1 week of AMCC play for the women's soccer team. In Tuesday night's home 1-0 victory over La Roche, she made three saves to record her first win of the season. The senior followed that up by making six saves to preserve the shutout in a 0-0 tie with Alfred State at home on Saturday.
  • Jordan Bailey, Mount Aloysius College, Women's Soccer (Offensive)

    Bailey had a career week, scoring three times as the Mounties went 2-0. On Tuesday, Bailey scored the first two goals of the contest, as the Mounties beat Carlow, 4-2, which proved to be the difference. She then added another goal in the teams' win against Hilbert, on Saturday. Bailey quickly climbed the team leaderboard, as she is now tied for the team-lead with four goals on the season.
