The AMCC Men's Volleyball Championship Tournament kicks off Friday evening with semifinal matchups, with the championship match slated for Saturday at 3:00pm.
Sciscio averaged 1.29 blocks per set in a 3-1 week for the Lions. He tallied 14 blocks assists and four solo for 18 blocks total. In the win over Grove City, Sciscio posted eight block assists and one solo. He also added 12 kills and hit .372.
Fries had another great week to help the Lions go 2-0 in AMCC play to finish out their regular season. In Tuesday night's 3-2 home win over Mount Aloysius, the freshman totaled 28 points on 22 kills, eight block assists, one solo block, and one service ace. He followed that up with 15 points on 12 kills, two aces, and a solo block in Friday night's home 3-0 victory over Houghton. On the week, Fries totaled 43 points (5.4 points per set), 34 kills (4.25 kills per set), 10 total blocks (1.25 blocks per set), and three aces (0.38 aces per set). He also swung at a .294 attack percentage.
Entering the final weekend of AMCC play, the top two teams will be squaring off on Saturday in the AMCC Men's Volleyball Match of the Week.
Vega played all 14 sets in a 4-0 week for the Bengals as they also opened AMCC play with three straight wins. Vega tallied a perfect 1.000 reception percentage on 60 attempts with 56 digs including a 15 in each win over Penn State Altoona and Geneva.
Jackson was crucial for the Bengals as they earned four wins and opened AMCC play with a 3-0 record. Jackson combined for 51 kills and a .319 hitting percentage across 14 sets played. His best performance came against Mount Aloysius where he tallied 19 kills, a .633 attack percentage, eight digs, and one block. Jackson registered double-digit kills in three of the four wins and also picked up 11 digs in each matchup with Penn State Altoona and Geneva.
The AMCC Men's Volleyball Match of the Week features 2-0 Penn State Altoona and 1-0 Buffalo State University.
Freed averaged 0.9 blocks per set last week for the Mounties, adding six kills and six digs as his team would go undefeated across three games. Freed currently sits at 5th in the AMCC for blocks this season
Franz led the Mountie offense this week, tallying 4.1 kills per set as the Mounties went 3-0. Franz would maintain a .342 hitting percentage across the games, now holding the sixth highest hitting percentage this season in the conference. Franz also sits at third in the AMCC for kills this season.
Schleicher tallied 3.00 digs per set for a total of 18 in a 1-1 week for the Lions. He also added four kills, four blocks and two aces. At Wilson, he led the team with 12 digs.
