The D'Youville College men's basketball team closed out their season by helping bring awareness to prostate cancer with their first annual teal game.

With a total of over $100 raised, the men helped bring awareness to prostate cancer. The entirety of their funds raised through a 50/50 raffle were donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

According to the Prostate Cancer Foundation website, the disease is the largest cancer outside of skin cancer in America. One out of every nine men in the United States will be diagnosed in their lifetime.

The foundation celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2018 and has "raised more than $700 million dollars and helped lower the mortality rate of prostate cancer by 50%." Recently, the foundation teamed up with the Atlanta Hawks as recently as this February to help raise $150,000 for research against prostate cancer.

Head coach Earl Schunk and the men plan on making their teal game an annual event with the goal of increasing their donations to the foundation year after year.
