  • HUNT, MOSHENEK ADVANCE TO NCAA DIVISION III MEN'S WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP

    AMCC wrestlers got back on the mats this weekend, as the grapplers competed in the NCAA Division III Region III regional tournaments, hosted by Lycoming College and Messiah University.

    In just its second season in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, Penn College's wrestling team has risen to the top as it dominated Saturday's championships, sending 18 to the podium — eight of them champions — and finishing with 191 points in a five-team field.

    The AMCC Men's Wrestling Championship is set for this Saturday, February 15 at Penn State Behrend's Junker Center. The first bouts will begin at 10:00am.

    Perry (197) bounced back after suffering a loss in his opening match, as he followed with a 10-4 decision win over Nathan Coon (St. John Fisher). After notching back-to-back falls over Judson Ferris (St. John Fisher) in 2:28 and Geoffry Kaminsky (Ohio Wesleyan) in 2:43, he earned a spot in the third-place match. In that match, he took a 5-3 decision win over Simon Lingle (Brockport) for third place, as he went 4-1 on the day.
  • Noah Hunt, Penn College of Technology, Men's Wrestling

    Hunt (141) posted a 5-0 record with four first-period falls and a tech fall in his first competition back from injury and down to 141 pounds. The Wildcat senior started the week with a pin over Keystone's Justin Santiago on Senior Night. He followed up with a 4-0 day and an individual title at Lycoming College's Rennie Rodarmel Invite. Hunt improved to 11-5 on the season and is just five wins shy of becoming the program's first 100-career-match winner.
  • D.J. Slovick, Pitt-Bradford, Men's Wrestling
    January 27, 2025
    Slovick went 5-1 for the Panthers with a third place finish at the Jamestown Open. He went 4-1 at the Open, pinning four opponents, while only losing to a Division I wrestler. He also scored the only points for the Panthers in a dual meet loss at St. John Fisher, winning by a 4-1 decision.
  • Nick Woodruff, Penn College of Technology, Men's Wrestling
    January 20, 2025
    Woodruff (197) extended his winning streak to six matches and an undefeated dual record after a 3-0 weekend. The 197-pounder recorded two pins and a major decision against US Merchant Marine Academy, Hunter College and New York University. Woodruff started the day with a 6:54 fall and 1:36 fall against his Merchant Marine and Hunter College opponents, respectively, before capping the night with a 17-5 major decision against Mark Dickey of NYU.
  • Nicholai Brotzman, Penn College of Technology, Men's Wrestling
    January 13, 2025
    Brotzman (285) was one of three Wildcats to post a 3-0 record to help lead his team to an undefeated AMCC dual record. The sophomore heavyweight pinned all three opponents in the first period, accumulating just 7:02 minutes of mat time. Brotzman started his day with a 1:10 pin of Alfred State's Keaton Renfrow to close out a 30-17 dual meet victory. He added a 2:55 pin against Penn State Behrend's Matthew Caldwell and a 2:57 fall against Pitt-Bradford's Cameron Carter-Green.
  • Kylee Bentley, Hiram College, Women's Wrestling

    Bentley (110/117) went a perfect 5-0 this past week in a pair of events held at Price Gymnasium on the campus of Hiram College. Three of those wins were all by fall within one minute of each bout starting.

    AMCC wrestling teams took to the mats on Saturday at Pitt-Bradford, competing in the AMCC duals as conference opponents all went head-to-head.
  • WRESTLING TEAMS GEAR UP FOR AMCC DUALS

    AMCC wrestling schools will take to the mats this Saturday, January 11 at Pitt-Bradford for the AMCC Duals. The meet will feature the only official AMCC regular season competition in the sport of wrestling this season. 
  • Elijah Moshenek, Alfred State College, Men's Wrestling
    January 06, 2025
    Moshenek (133/141) opened the 2025 portion of the season with a 17-2 tech fall win over Kevin Sevigny (Springfield). He followed with a first period fall in two minutes over Devin Morrissette (Springfield Technical Community College). Moshenek followed with a 7-2 decision win in the simi-finals against John Schneider of Williams College, to advance to the first-place match. In the first-place match, Moshenek picked up a 5-1 over Botensky Bauzile (Hunter College) to take the 133-bracket title. Prior to the holiday break, Moshenek also picked up dual match victories against Pitt-Bradford and Brockport on December 14. 
  • Carter Davis, Penn College, Men's Wrestling

    Davis (165) captured the 165-pound title at the Elizabethtown Blue Jay Classic with a perfect 5-0 day, including three falls, a decision, and a 12-2 major decision in the finals. Davis' finish helped Penn College to a runner-up finish in an 11-team field.
  • Gavin Thompson, Pitt-Bradford, Men's Wrestling
    November 18, 2024
    Thompson (285) won all three of his matches as the Panthers went 2-3 at the Electric City Duals in Scranton. He picked up two wins by fall, pinning opponents from Rowan (1:04) and New Jersey City (1:37), and then had a tight 1-0 decision victory in the Panthers' loss to SUNY Oneonta.
  • Nolan Fenton, Penn State Behrend, Men's Wrestling
    November 11, 2024
    Fenton (197) was the individual champion at 197 at the W&J Invitational on Saturday. He went undefeated (4-0) and recorded three wins by pin to claim the title. In the first bout, Fenton posted a pin in 1:57 and followed that with another pin in 1:16. After getting a forfeit win, he defeated Phil Nave of Gettysburg in his fastest pin of the day (0:57) for first place.

    Hunt (141/149), ranked fourth in Region 2 at 141 pounds of the NWCA preseason coaches rankings bumped up to the 149 pound weight class and made the 149 pound final. Hunt started the season with a 4-1 record including bonus-point victories of two first-period falls, a first-period tech fall and a second-period fall to score a team-high 21.5 team points and reach the championship bout. The Wildcat senior only loss was a 17-15 decision to the No. 5 ranked Region 1 149-pounder in Elijah Cyr of Castleton.
  • ROHRBAUGH SELECTED TO LEAD PENN COLLEGE WRESTLING PROGRAM

    Penn College announced Dalton Rohrbaugh as the seventh head coach of the wrestling program. Rohrbaugh will begin his coaching duties on Sept. 24.
