#1 Penn St. Behrend, the defending AMCC men's soccer champion, advanced to the 2014 championship game by defeating #5 Mt. Aloysius 4-0 Wednesday afternoon, while #2 Medaille squeaked past #3 Pitt Greensburg in a thrilling 1-0 double OT victory.

Galley made eight total saves in two shutout victories for the Bobcats, including a first round AMCC playoff victory over #6 D'Youville College.

Crozier scored the game-winning goal off of a 35-yard free kick to break a 2-2 tie in the second half as Mount Aloysius went on to defeat higher seed La Roche 4-2 in an AMCC playoff game on Saturday. Crozier added an assist earlier in the game, and led the Mounties with four shots from a midfield position.

Matthews earned a shutout against Pitt Bradford as he allowed no goals on six shots, propelling the Spartans to a 1-0 victory and giving D'Youville their first winning record in the conference in over three years. In the Spartans' game against La Roche, Matthews allowed one goal and made five saves and contributed in a big way to the Spartans 1-1 tie.

Belack scored the game-winning goal in both of the Lions’ games this past week. Belack put the Lions up 1-0 against Medaille Tuesday night and also added an assist in the game. Against Pitt-Greensburg on Friday night, he got Behrend on the board early just four minutes into the game with his team-leading 15th goal of the season. He has now scored in eight straight games.

The AMCC has placed 11 men's soccer student-athletes in the top 50 nationally in the following statistical categories for games through October 12. Penn-State Behrend senior Jimmy Belack currently stands in third place nationally for game-winning goals with five, Medaille's Bryan Sibble is also in third place with 11 total assists, while Medaille GK Erik Szczerba is fourth in goals against average with 0.299. In addition, as a team,Medailled ranks sixth nationally in total goals with 43.

Matthews started and won both of D'Youville's games this week as their goalie. Against Hilbert, Matthews made 9 saves on 10 shots, including a big stop on a penalty shot. Against Penn St. Altoona, he made 8 saves on 9 shots, including a huge diving save. With his strong play in goal and 17 saves on the week, D'Youville won two conference games in a row, including their first conference game in over a year.

Ouellette scored all three Mountie goals in a 1-0-1 week for Mount Aloysius. He scored the Mounties lone goal in a 1-1 tie against Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday, and added two goals in a 2-1 win over Pitt-Bradford on Saturday.

Galley made nine saves in a shutout victory over D'Youville College to help the Bobcats to a 2-1 start in the conference. Galley currently ranks third in the AMCC in save percentage (.789) and fourth in goals against (12) and goals against average (1.51).

Chea scored three goals in two conference games for the Mounties. He notched two goals against Franciscan, including the game's opening goal, before adding the game's opening goal and eventual game winner against Hilbert in a 4-0 victory. Chea now had five goals in his last four games.

Frownfelter had 12 saves in a 1-0 loss to Houghton and nine saves in a 3-1 victory over Franciscan. Frownfelter recorded 21 saves in two games for the week. He ranks first in the AMCC in saves with 67 and third in save percentage (.807).

Belack scored five goals on the week, including three goals to lift the Lions past St. Vincent 6-0 Wednesday night. Belack also scored two goals to lead Behrend past Penn State Altoona Saturday afternoon. He ranks first in the AMCC for points with 19, and is tied for first for goals scored with eight.

Wolfe made 10 saves in a 2-0 week. The Redhawks recorded a 3-2 win over Westminster and shutout Wooster 3-0.

Hamister scored three goals and added an assist in a win over Thiel college, totaling seven points. He was instrumental in the Hawks taking an early three goal lead in the first 10 minutes of the game. His third goal also helped ice the result, scoring with under five minutes left to seal the win.

Henry had several key saves in the Hawk’s first win of the season against Alfred University, one of which was a penalty save late in the game, smothering the rebound as well to preserve the one goal lead and the win. Henry finished the week with 13 total saves.
