MEDAILLE'S SALCEDO NAMED TO THE 2014 CAPITAL ONE ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA TEAM

Medaille College men's soccer midfielder Jaime Salcedo has been selected to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-America Team.

An accounting major, Salcedo carries a 4.0 cumulative grade point average.  He is the first Medaille athlete to receive this honor in any sport. 

The senior was a big contributor on the field this season for the Mavericks who finished the year second in the AMCC going 8-1 in conference play and 17-5 overall.  Salcedo finished the year with three goals and three assists and one game-winning goal.  

Off the field, his resume is even stronger.  As the AMCC's representative to the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, he serves as an executive board member.  He is also a member of the NCAA Division III Management Council and the NCAA Strategic Planning and Finance Committee.  

 Salcedo was recently inducted into the Who's Who among American Colleges and Universities and is a member of Alpha Chi National Honor Society and Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society.  Salcedo is also a two time co-president Medaille's SAAC, the CMO of Medaille College Commons Cafe, the Medaille Enactus treasurer, the vice president of the Accounting Club.  He has been involved in two internships in finance in large NYC companies and was Medaille's representative at the 2014 Nike Sports Diversity Summit.
