Gould had a conference tournament to remember. He recorded nine points and five rebounds in a semifinal win over Hilbert on Saturday. He then scored 26 points and hit six of seven three-pointers in the AMCC Championship game on Sunday to lead the Redhawks to their third conference title in program history. For his efforts, Gould was named to the All-Tournament Team.

The La Roche College Redhawks claimed a 77-74 victory over the Penn State Behrend Lions on Sunday afternoon to earn their third AMCC men's basketball title, and their first since the 2010-11 season.

Top-seed La Roche College and #2 Penn State Behrend earned semifinal round victories to advance to the AMCC men's basketball championship game. The Redhawks scored an 84-67 win over Hilbert College, as Behrend defeated Medaille College, 79-76 in the second game.

Nwaekeke had the best week of his career this past week, recording career-high scoring totals in back-to-back games. Nwaekeke started off the week by scoring a career-high 26 points in a thrilling game against Medaille on Wednesday. He shot 61.1% from the field and played a career-high 39 minutes. Nwaekeke also grabbed a team high 13 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season. On Saturday, the sophomore then had another outstanding performance. He tied his career high with 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for his second consecutive double-double. He played 38 minutes in the game, adding a pair of steals. Nwaekeke leads the team in rebounding with 7.0 rebounds per game, is second with a 52.5 FG%, and is fourth with 10.2 PPG. Nwaekeke's 7.0 rebounds per game is fourth in the AMCC.

After the Hilbert College men's basketball team earned a 67-66 road win at Franciscan University earlier this month they assured themselves a spot in the AMCC post-season tournament for the eighth consecutive season.

The AMCC is entering the final week of the regular season, which means teams are making their last push to move up in league standings, and for some, to earn their spot in the postseason tournament. Mount Aloysius College (5-18, 5-11 AMCC) currently sits in sixth place, the final playoff spot, however Franciscan University (5-18, 4-12, AMCC) is right on their heels in the seventh spot and still has the opportunity to earn that final playoff berth. Pitt-Greensburg (6-16, 4-12 AMCC), tied with Franciscan for seventh, and D'Youville College (6-16, 3-13 AMCC) in eighth place also remain as bubble teams with the potential of breaking into the sixth place spot. The Mounties will be traveling to Steubenville, OH on Wednesday evening to take on the Barons in the AMCC Game of the Week.

Alvarez shot the lights out this past week, as he went 17-for-18 from three-point range, for an astounding 94%. The freshman led the Hawks to a 2-0 record, averaging 31.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, scoring a career-high 34 points in the win over D'Youville and adding 29 points against Pitt-Greensburg. Alvarez went 10-for-11 from long range against the Spartans before connecting on all seven from downtown against the Panthers. The 6'3" guard shot 77.8 percent from the field last week and currently ranks second in the AMCC with a 42.7 shooting percentage from behind the arc.

The AMCC men's basketball game of the week features a showdown of the leagues top two teams, La Roche College and Penn State Behrend. Both teams are tied for first place with 13-1 records, with La Roche coming out on top in the teams' first meeting, a 68-48 victory. The Redhawks enter Wednesday's game winners of eleven straight, while the Lions have won their past five games. The game of the week has major implications on who will end up hosting the AMCC championship tournament at the end of the month.

Bajgora averaged a double-double with 21 points and 10.5 rebounds in two conference wins. He had 21 points and 12 rebounds in a 60-51 victory over Mount Aloysius on Wednesday. He then registered 21 points and nine rebounds on Saturday as the Redhawks beat Medaille 88-77 in the AMCC Game of the Week.

As we officially enter the month of February and approach the end of the regular season, basketball season heats up as teams begin to set their sights on the postseason, and ultimately, the top seed and hosting rights for the AMCC tournament. La Roche College (15-5, 12-1 AMCCC) is hot, riding the conference's longest winning streak with nine straight AMCC victories. Their only conference loss of the year came at the hands of the Medaille College (12-8, 9-4 AMCC)Mavericks on December 16. The Mavs won seven straight in the month of January, but that month also saw bookend losses to Penn State Behrend to open and close out the month. La Roche is currently tied with Penn State Behrend atop the AMCC conference standings.

The Barons will honor the memory of the late Henry "Hank" Kuzma prior to the men's and women's basketball games on Saturday while celebrating the 60th anniversary of the 1958 National Championship Baron basketball team.

Smith is starting to hit his grove for the Mavericks, helping Medaille get two big wins over Hilbert and Penn State Altoona. Against the Hawks, Smith dropped 23 points and grabbed three rebounds to go along with four assists and two steals. He was just as good against the Lions, going 5-9 from beyond the three point line and 6-10 from the floor. His 19 points made it eight straight in double digits, and he assisted on six more buckets in the win.

Penn State Altoona (11-6, 7-3 AMCC) men’s basketball travels to Buffalo, N.Y. for a big Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference showdown with Medaille College (10-7, 7-3 AMCC) this Saturday, January 27 at 1:00 p.m. Altoona and Medaille, each with 7-3 records, are looking to finish the season with strong second halves to rise in conference standings for prime seeding heading into the conference tournament.

Alvarez led the Hawks to a 2-1 record this week averaging 19.3 points and 12.3 rebounds. Alvarez shot 62.2 percent from the field and 40 percent from the arc, recording his first double-double of his collegiate career. He then added his second one in the same week in the loss to Penn State Altoona with 20 points and 19 rebounds over the weekend.

The AMCC men's basketball game of the week features the top two teams in the conference when top-ranked Penn State Behrend (13-2, 8-0 AMCC) travels to Pittsburgh, PA to take on La Roche College (10-5, 7-1 AMCC). La Roche is the fourth-highest scoring team in the league, averaging 78.7 points per game, while Behrend is sixth with 72.7 points per game. It's the Lions' stifling defense that keeps them undefeated in conference play, giving up just 58.6 points per game, the fewest in the conference.

Wanker led the Lions to 2-0 against conference rivals after averaging 19.0 points and 7.5 rebounds. Against Hilbert in the AMCC game of the week, Wanker shot 67 percent from the floor to notch a career-high 20 points, while also pulling down seven boards in the win. He continued his dominance by scoring 18 points, including a percent 6-for-6 from the charity stripe, in the one-point victory over Altoona.

Sitting at the top of the AMCC is Penn State Behrend (11-2, 6-0 AMCC), who is the only remaining undefeated team in conference play. Hilbert College (8-4, 5-1 AMCC) and La Roche College (8-5, 5-1 AMCC), with just one conference loss a piece, are tied for the second spot.

Nance averaged a double-double in a 1-1 week for the Lions. In Wednesday night's win over Pitt-Bradford, the senior scored 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. In Saturday's loss at La Roche, he scored 18 points to go along with seven rebounds. For the week, Nance average 24.0 points per game, 11.0 rebounds per game, 2.0 assists per game, and 1.5 steals per game.

Averaging a double-double, Trent led the Barons to a 1-1 week in non-conference action. The sophomore helped the Barons to an 82-80 win over Washington & Jefferson, recording 13 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals in their first victory over a non-conference opponent since the 2014-15 season. He then posted his first double-double of the season against Grove City. He tied a career-best with 15 rebounds and posted his second-most point total (19) against the Wolverines. Trent shot 66.7% from the floor in both games and was 72.7% from the free throw line. He ranks second in the AMCC with 7.5 rebounds per game and second in total rebounds.

Hollenbeck had a big game for Medaille on Saturday, helping the Mavs come through with a big 92-78 win over La Roche who came in previously unbeaten in conference play. Hollenbeck scored a game-high 24 points on 9-15 shooting from the floor, including two triples. He also tied a game-high with seven rebounds, helping the Mavericks pull back even in AMCC play with a 2-2 record heading into the break.

The AMCC men's basketball game of the week features Pitt-Greensburg (3-4, 2-2 AMCC) at Penn St. Behrend (7-1, 3-0 AMCC). The Bobcats, under first-year head coach Brody Jackson, have already won more conference games than just a season ago and look to be on the rebound in 2017-18. The Lions are  one of two undefeated teams remaining in conference play and are looking to keep that streak alive this weekend.

Mancini was deadly from beyond the three-point arc in both of Pitt-Greensburg's games this past week. Mancini averaged 18.0 points and hauled down five rebounds in the Pitt-Greensburg's two games last week. He shot 50% from the field and was even better from three-point distance, hitting 11-of-20 for 55%. Mancini nailed five three's in a 73-70 victory at Mt. Aloysius Wednesday evening and set a new career-high with six three-pointers to help guide the Bobcats to an 84-69 victory against D'Youville.
