D'YOUVILLE MEN'S BASKETBALL NAMED TO 2017-18 NABC ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE TEAM

Despite being the offseason, the 2017-18 D'Youville College men's basketball team earned another academic award as they were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) NABC Academic Excellence Team.

In order to make the NABC Academic Excellence Team, a team must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2017-18 season. The Spartans earned a 3.315 GPA for the 2017-18 academic year to qualify for the academic excellence team. They also were the recipient of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Team Peak Performer Award for having the highest team cumulative GPA amongst all men's basketball team's in the AMCC.

Six individual players from the AMCC were also honored by the NABC and made the NABC Honors Court. From D'Youville, Will VanAuken, Jeremy VanDuluitgaarden, Brian Nwaekeke, and Juan Miguel Rosales were all named to the honors court by maintaining a 3.2 GPA or higher for the 2017-18 academic year. Joining them, from Medaille College, are senior Justice Fagan and junior Sean Wilson. Only juniors and seniors are eligable for the award.
