    The Penn State Altoona men’s golf team finished in 37th place out of 43 teams by the conclusion of the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship on Wednesday, hosted by Mission Inn Resort and Club.

    Heffelfinger shot 74 in day one and 81 in day two of the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic, compiling a two-day score of 155 to rank in a tie for 30th place individually out of 75 golfers at the event.

    Johnson won his first invitational of the season, carding a season-low 72 to help Behrend capture the James Bowen Invitational held at Lawrence Park Golf Course on Monday. The junior tallied three birdies to earn a 35 on the front nine and 37 on the back for individual-medalist honors.

    Heffelfinger had a great week for the Lions in three rounds. In Friday's dual match win at home over non-conference opponent Juniata College, he shot 67 to set a new Penn State Altoona men's golf record for the lowest score in a round in team history and also place first out of 16 total individuals competing in the match. In day one of the two-day Allegheny College Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Memorial Invitational on Sunday in Meadville, Heffelfinger fired a 75 to finish the day in a tie for eighth place out of 68 individuals. During day two of the Allegheny Invitational, he shot 70 to compile a two-day score of 145 and finish in a tie for fourth place out of 68 golfers. His score of 70 is tied for the third-lowest score in a round by an individual in Penn State Altoona men's golf history. Heffelfinger averaged 70.67 per round this past week.

    Heffelfinger had a great week for the Lions, competing against Westminster in match play on Tuesday before playing in the two-day Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic on Friday and Saturday. In Tuesday's match play against the Titans at Laurel Valley Golf Club, Trey won his match 5 and 4. In Friday's round of the MVCC, Trey shot 73 to rank third out of 60 individuals. He followed that up by firing 72 in Saturday's round of the MVCC, compiling a two-day score of 145 to place third out of 60 golfers in the tournament. Trey had the lowest score of any AMCC player in the MVCC.

    Ferguson shot 77 in day one and 68 in day two to compile a combined score of 145 and tie for sixth place individually out of 58 golfers at the Gatorade Collegiate hosted by Wooster at Zoar Village Golf Course. His score of 68 on day two set a new Penn State Altoona record for the lowest score in a round in program history. Additionally, his performance helped the Lions achieve their lowest team score in a round in program history, as Penn State Altoona shot a program-best 289 on Sunday.
