FERGUSON NAMED GOLFER OF THE YEAR AS ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM IS RELEASED

Penn State Altoona junior Andrew Ferguson has been named the 2021 AMCC Golfer of the Year. Ferguson shared the prestigious honor a year ago, but has earned the title outright this season. Ferguson was the 2021 AMCC Individual Champion and led the Lions to the AMCC team title. He finished second in the AMCC in scoring average at 76.54. Ferguson’s 68 during day two of the Wooster Gatorade Intercollegiate is the second-lowest score in a round in team history.

Newcomer of the Year honors go to Penn State Altoona freshman Iain Murphy-Herndon. Murphy-Herndon was named to the AMCC All-Tournament Team and ranked fifth in AMCC in scoring average (79.18). He tied the PSA freshman record with a 70 on day two of the Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic. He also had an impressive finish at the Gettysburg Invitational, shooting 74 in the second round.

For the second year in a row, Penn State Altoona head coach Tom Koehle has been named the AMCC Coach of the Year. Koehle guided the Lions to their sixth conference title, and their first since 2010. This is Koehle's third time overall receiving the honor.
