The Penn State Altoona men's golf team holds down first place on the team leaderboard through the opening round of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships on Monday at Toftrees Golf Resort in State College, PA.

Cussil had a strong showing this week for the Mounties as they placed third in the Sinking Valley Collegiate Classic. Cussil finished for a tie with fifth place after surging up the leaderboard 17 spots on day two with a 74. A weekend 77-74 for the sophomore and top-five finish was crucial for the Mounties finishing third out of 20 teams.

Bruce tied for second place out of 90 individuals in The Northeast Elite on Sunday and Monday at the par 71 Williamsport Country Club. The junior scored 73 in Sunday's round, then fired a 2-under par 69 on Monday to tie for runner-up status with a combined score of 142. Bruce's score of 69 ties for the third-lowest in a round in team history.

Helsley was Penn State Altoona's top finisher in the three-day NCAA Division III Fall Preview this past Sunday through Tuesday at Mission Resort + Club in Florida. The sophomore totaled 220 strokes across three rounds in a highly competitive field, carding scores of 72, 72, and 76 to tie for 35th place on the player leaderboard.

Batrus had the biggest win of the day for the Lions, who defeated non-conference opponent Westminster College 6-1 on Saturday to claim their first-ever Hite Cup title in the five-year history of the annual round of match play. The junior defeated the Titans' Josh Furman 7&6.

Close shot a 4-over 76 at the Saint Vincent Invitational on Monday, putting him in a tie for sixth place. He was the joint low scorer for Pitt-Bradford as the Panthers had a 6-stroke tournament victory. Close was consistent on the afternoon, carding 14 pars and 4 bogeys.

Thomas won the Pitt-Greensburg Leadoff Classic and led his team to a third place finish. Thomas shot a 73 on his way to placing first out of 72 individuals.
