AMCC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL SET FOR SUNDAY
The AMCC Women's Cross Country Invitational will take place this Sunday, March 28 at 1:00pm on the campus of La Roche University. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 fall cross country season was postponed to the spring semester. Full teams participating include Alfred State College, La Roche University, and Penn State Behrend. Hilbert College and Mount Aloysius College will each have individuals participating in the race.
Below are the AMCC Runners to Watch:
Alfred State:
Sophomore Laura Ferris is the top newcomer on the team. She is expected to be one of the top finishers for the Pioneers.
Junior Katie Watkins returns to compete after finishing 21st in the 2019 AMCC Championship with a time of 27:04.7. She helped the Pioneers to a 3rd place finish. Her fastest 5K last season was a 22:02.3 at the Harry Anderson Invitational.
Hilbert:
Sophomore Kristine Twoguns was the top finisher for Hilbert in the 2019 AMCC Championship meet.
Freshman McKenzie Gaffney is quietly competitive. She looks to make her mark during her college running career.
Mount Aloysius:
Junior Olivia Jumper recently transferred from Westmoreland Community College. In her time at Westmoreland, Jumper helped the Wolfpack reach the NJCAA Division III Championship race and led them to a 3rd place finish. She looks to continue that success with the Mounties.
La Roche:

Junior Jessie Johnson will look to make an impact for her team, was Behrend’s top runner at the Gannon/Mercyhurst meet (Sav did not compete).
