CARR LEADS BEHREND TO WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL TITLE
With three finishers in the top five, Penn State Behrend took the team title at the AMCC Women's Cross Country Invitational with a team score of 23 on Saturday afternoon.
With three finishers in the top five, Penn State Behrend took the team title at the AMCC Women's Cross Country Invitational with a team score of 23 on Saturday afternoon. Alfred State University finished in second place with 32 points.
Behrend junior Savanna Carr ran a 24:18.88 to win the individual championship, leading Behrend to a team victory. This marks Carr's third AMCC individual championship, also winning in 2017 and 2019 (did not compete in 2018). Also for the Lions, junor Jessie Johnson followed closely behind Carr, taking home bronze with a time of 25:36.64 while freshman Izzy Spires finished in third place, running 25:39.41
Alfred State's Kathryn Watkins took fourth place with a 26:04.02, while Pioneer sophomore Sarah Rivet rounded out the top five with a 26:05.32 finish.
