SIMON, MELCHIORRE, AND MERRILL NAMED ECAC SOUTH SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK

The ECAC has named three AMCC student-athletes as South Division Swimmers of the Week for the week ending November 30.

Cabrini sophomore Christina Melchiorre was named the Women's Co-Swimmer of the Week. She won the 1,000 yard freestyle and set a new school record, with a final time of 11:27.71. The sophomore also came in first place in the 100 and 500 yard freestyles, reaching the wall in 56.25 and 5:39.84, respectively.

Cabrini freshman Casey Merrill was named the Women's Rookie of the Week after turning in a first-place finish against Penn State Behrend in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:10.41. The rookie was also a part of a 200-yard freestyle relay that placed second with a time of 1:47.65.

Penn St. Behrend senior Dan Simon, ECAC Men's Swimmer of the Week, took gold in two races last week for Penn State Behrend. Simon broke the school record in the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 1:55.64 and also won the 50-meter free in 21.76.
