AMCC WOMEN'S SOCCER GAME OF THE WEEK: FRANCISCAN @ MOUNT ALOYSIUS

The final AMCC women's soccer game of the week is a clash between the Barons of Franciscan University (8-6-2, 4-3-2 AMCC) and the Mounties of Mount Aloysius College (10-3-4, 5-2-2 AMCC).

 

The Barons are coming off of an 1-0-1 week where they beat Hilbert and tied D'Youville 1-1 in 2OT. Forward Kaitrin O'Leary leads the Baron offense with six goals. Goalkeeper Marita Ostrich has recorded 77 saves on the year with a .794 save percentage and 1.21 goals-against average.

 

The Mounties are vying for playoff position, as they hope to host an AMCC quarterfinal game. The Game of the Week will directly impact the playoff seeding, with many potential outcomes. Leading the Mounties is sophomore GK Lauren Davey who has saved over 84% of shots that she's seen and recorded six shutouts in goal. They have a balanced scoring attack with eight players that have scored three or more goals this season. Sophomore F Kourtney Walls leads the team with seven goals scored. Senior MF Maddie Doyle has been a force recently as she has added all six of her goals in AMCC play.
