WOMEN'S LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIP SET FOR THIS WEEK

The AMCC Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament kicks off this Tuesday with first round matchups. La Roche University went a perfect 6-0 in conference play to earn the regular season title and hosting rights throughout the tournament. The Rehawks will host #4 Hilbert College in the First Round, while #2 Mount Aloysius College hosts #3 Alfred State College.
La Roche enters the tournament as the top seed and is looking for their first conference title. The Redhawks boast a robust offense, holding down the top three scoring spots in the AMCC. Freshman A Alecia D'Urso leads the league with 51 goals on the season, while ranking third with 18 assists. Senior A/M Jade Fuccaro is second with 48 goals and graduate student Jasey Reiser ranks third in the conference with 42 goals and is second with 25 assists. Junior GK Julianna Hornikel leads the conference with just 78 goals against this season, including a 6.24 goals-against-average. Her 102 saves are second-best in the league, while her 56.7 save percentage is tops in the AMCC.
With a 4-2 record in conference play, Mount Aloysius enters the tournament as the #2 seed. Freshman Cassidy Cook leads the Mounties, and ranks fourth in the AMCC, with 38 goals, while also ranking sixth in the conference with eight assists. Senior Kendall Cramer ranks third in the AMCC with 149 goals against and an 11.46 goals-against-average, while also ranking fourth in the conference with 75 saves.
Alfred State enters the tournament as the #3 seed with a 2-4 record against AMCC opponents. Sophomore M Karlee Hargather leads the Pioneers, and ranks fifth in the AMCC with 27 goals and 10 assists. Sophomore GK Cadence Pierce ranks second in the conference with 122 goals against and a 10.42 goals-against-average. Her 100 saves and 45.0 save percentage rank her third in the AMCC
Rounding out the field is #4 Hilbert. Junior A/M Jessee Jonathan leads the Hawk offense with 11 goals, while sophomore GK Olivia Cleary leads the conference with 144 saves in net.
The winners of Tuesday's semifinal games will meet on Saturday, May 3 at the highest remaining seed for the AMCC Championship.
