PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PS-Altoona S Tommy Kisick powered the Lions' offense to four 3-0 sweeps in the Misericordia University Cougar Kickoff Classic this past Friday and Saturday, and he was named the tournament MVP at the conclusion of the weekend as Penn State Altoona took the tournament championship. On Friday, he posted 15 assists, four aces, two kills, and two digs against the College of St. Elizabeth before coming back with 21 assists, four digs, and three total blocks against host school Misericordia. On Saturday, Kisick totaled 12 assists, one kill, and one ace against Neumann University before capping the weekend with 23 assists, four digs, two kills, and two total blocks versus Hiram College. On the week, Kisick put up 71 assists (6.45 assists per set), 10 digs (0.91 digs per set), eight kills (0.73 kills per set), five aces (0.45 aces per set), and five total blocks (0.45 blocks per set).

 

BEST OF THE REST: Senior OH Pat Stroh began his season with 12 total kills on Friday against Endicott and Bard, recording seven kills in the 3-0 victory over Bard, and then following up those performances with a double-double against St. John Fisher where he tallied 21 kills and 11 digs...PS-Behrend OH Tyler Herrmann tallied 24 kills, 14 digs and three blocks in three matches over the weekened, recording eight kills and eight digs in the win over Cincinnati Christian and was named to the Wittenberg All-Tournament Team...Hiram RS Alex Andrzejewski helped lead the Terriers to a 3-1 record in their inaugural weekend at the Misericordia University Cougar Kickoff Classic and was named to the all-tournament team after posting a team-high 29 kills and ranking second on the team with 15 digs.
