    The Geneva College men's volleyball team advanced to the NCAA National Tournament for the first time in program history, but the Golden Tornadoes saw their season come to and end at No. 2 Stevens Institute of Technology on Friday evening in the first round of the tournament.

    The Geneva College men's volleyball team, fresh off its dramatic five-set victory at Penn State Behrend on Saturday in the AMCC Championship match, learned it will be headed to Stevens Institute of Technology (NJ) to take on the No. 2 ranked Ducks in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Friday.

    April 10, 2023
    Ebersole had a big day at the net for the Lions in their 3-0 sweep of AMCC opponent Wells on Saturday. The junior middle finished with three solo blocks and four block assists to lead all players in the match. His seven total blocks ties for the most in a three-set match in team history.

    Proudfoot recorded 14 kills with 4.67 kills per set in the Tomcats' 3-0 win over Mount Aloysius on Saturday. He also recorded a .619 hitting percentage and notched one assist.
  • Adrian Martinez, Penn State Behrend, Men's Volleyball (Defensive)

    Martinez tied the program record for career digs at 895 in a 3-1 win over Geneva on Saturday. He averaged 4.86 digs per set, recording double-digit digs in each match in a 2-0 week. Martinez tallied 16 vs. Carlow and 18 against Geneva.
  • Kevin Cashdollar, Medaille University, Men's Volleyball (Offensive)

    Cashdollar averaged 10.33 assists per set in two games for the Mavs last week. He totaled four kills, one of them being the winning kill in the Mavs' five-set match against Penn State Altoona, while also adding 81 assists, three aces, 16 digs, and six blocks. His best game was against Penn State Altoona where he had two kills, 50 assists, three aces, 12 digs, and four blocks. The big win over Penn State Altoona kept Medaille in the hunt for the final AMCC postseason playoff spot.

    The AMCC Men's Volleyball Game of the week features the top two teams in conference standings -- Geneva College sits at the top of the conference with a perfect 10-0 record in AMCC play, while Penn State Behrend is right behind them with a 10-1 conference mark.

    Sangrey had a career-best 19 digs (6.33 d/s) in an important sweep of Thiel on Saturday. For the week in Geneva's three victories, he finished with 43 digs (4.50 d/s).

    Williams led Geneva to three victories this past week, finishing with 37 kills (3.7 k/s) on a .441 hitting percentage. He also added 11 aces (1.10 sa/s) and 21 digs (2.10 d/s) over the three matches. He finished the week with 50.5 points (5.0 pts/s). He was particularly strong in the two AMCC wins, finishing with 28 kills (4.67 k/s) on a .511 hitting percentage, averaging 5.8 pts/s.

    Long recorded 26 digs in the Tomcats' four-set win over Hilbert on Wednesday, including 6.50 digs per set. Long's 26 digs are the most in a four-set match in program history, the most in a match since 2019, and the most in the AMCC this season.

    Martini had 21 kills in a four-set loss to Mount Union on Wednesday, making him the third player in Hiram program history to have multiple games with 20+ kills in a career. He also had 10 kills in the team's win over Mount Aloysius on Saturday.

    Jackson led the Mavs on the week, totaling 22 kills and 14 digs while hitting .318. His best game came in the win over Wells College with 12 kills, hitting .348 on 23 attempts and averaging four kills per set
  • Owen Wienczowski, Penn State Behrend, Men's Volleyball (Defensive)
    March 06, 2023
    Wienczkowski tallied 11 total blocks, 10 assist and one solo in a 3-1 week for the Lions. He also added six digs, two service aces and 28 kills. Wienczkowski tallied five block assists vs. Drew on Saturday.

    Spear had a career-high 22 kills (5.50 k/s), while hitting .364, in a four-set win over Penn State Altoona on Saturday. For the week he led Geneva to three AMCC wins, finishing with 44 kills (4.40 k/s) on a .309 hitting percentage, while adding 13 digs, four blocks and four aces. He averaged 5.0 points per set on the week.

    Milroy had a strong week blocking in three Geneva victories. He had a career-high nine blocks in a five-set win over SUNY Potsdam on Saturday, and for the week he finished with 15 blocks (1.36 b/s) while adding 20 kills on a .333 hitting percentage along with nine digs and four aces.

    Spear played in two of Geneva's three victories this week and finished with 32 kills (4.00 k/s) on a .259 hitting percentage. He added 21 digs (2.38 d/s) and four blocks (0.50 b/s) in the two wins, finishing with 35.0 points (4.4 pts/s).

    February 20, 2023
    Winter recorded a total of 30 digs, averaging 3.0 digs per set in three matches for the Lions last week. He had a pair of double-digit dig matches, posting 12 digs against both Geneva and Elizabethtown.
  • Matthew Minkin, Saint Vincent College, Men's Volleyball (Offensive)
    February 20, 2023
    Minkin set a program record with 25 kills (on a .327 hitting percentage), while adding 11 digs for his sixth double-double of the season in Saint Vincent's 3-2 win at Hiram on Tuesday. Minkin leads the AMCC with an average of 3.70 kills per set, and has put down at least 13 kills in five of SVC's first eight matches of the season.

    Spear had a solid week on both sides of the net last week. He recorded 21 digs, including 16 of those in conference play, to average 2.63 digs per set overall, and 3.20 per set against his conference opponent. He also recorded five blocks on the week. Spear also contributed in a big way on the offensive side, as well. He finished with a career-high 19 kills in a five-set victory over Medaille on Saturday, hitting .333 while adding 16 digs in the win. In Geneva's two matches last week Spear finished with 32 kills (4.00 k/s) on a .375 hitting percentage, adding 21 digs (2.63 d/s) and five blocks (0.63 b/s). He led the team with 35.5 pts (4.4 pts/s).
  • Matthew Albano, Hiram College, Men's Volleyball (Offensive)

    Albano recorded a career-high 36 assists against Penn State Altoona on Tuesday and then set a new career-high with 38 assists against Wells on Saturday, averaging 9.25 assists per set on the week. His seven service aces against Penn State Altoona also marked a career-best mark.
