
Men's volleyball in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference will have a new look in Spring 2024.

The Geneva College men's volleyball team advanced to the NCAA National Tournament for the first time in program history, but the Golden Tornadoes saw their season come to and end at No. 2 Stevens Institute of Technology on Friday evening in the first round of the tournament.

Geneva College senior MB Byron Spear and Penn State Behrend senior DS Adrian Martinez have been named AMCC Men's Volleyball Co-Players of the Year.

The Geneva College men's volleyball team, fresh off its dramatic five-set victory at Penn State Behrend on Saturday in the AMCC Championship match, learned it will be headed to Stevens Institute of Technology (NJ) to take on the No. 2 ranked Ducks in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Friday.

In a match befitting a championship final, Geneva College defeated Penn State Behrend to claim their first AMCC men's volleyball title on Saturday.

The seeding held true through the semifinal round of the AMCC men's volleyball playoffs, with Penn State Behrend, the top seed from the north and defending champion, taking on Geneva College, the #1 seed from the south.

Ebersole had a big day at the net for the Lions in their 3-0 sweep of AMCC opponent Wells on Saturday. The junior middle finished with three solo blocks and four block assists to lead all players in the match. His seven total blocks ties for the most in a three-set match in team history.

Proudfoot recorded 14 kills with 4.67 kills per set in the Tomcats' 3-0 win over Mount Aloysius on Saturday. He also recorded a .619 hitting percentage and notched one assist.

Martinez tied the program record for career digs at 895 in a 3-1 win over Geneva on Saturday. He averaged 4.86 digs per set, recording double-digit digs in each match in a 2-0 week. Martinez tallied 16 vs. Carlow and 18 against Geneva.

Cashdollar averaged 10.33 assists per set in two games for the Mavs last week. He totaled four kills, one of them being the winning kill in the Mavs' five-set match against Penn State Altoona, while also adding 81 assists, three aces, 16 digs, and six blocks. His best game was against Penn State Altoona where he had two kills, 50 assists, three aces, 12 digs, and four blocks. The big win over Penn State Altoona kept Medaille in the hunt for the final AMCC postseason playoff spot.

The AMCC Men's Volleyball Game of the week features the top two teams in conference standings -- Geneva College sits at the top of the conference with a perfect 10-0 record in AMCC play, while Penn State Behrend is right behind them with a 10-1 conference mark.

Sangrey had a career-best 19 digs (6.33 d/s) in an important sweep of Thiel on Saturday. For the week in Geneva's three victories, he finished with 43 digs (4.50 d/s).
