PENN STATE BEHREND MEN EARN TOP SEED, LOOK TO DEFEND CONFERENCE TITLE

Top-seeded Penn State Behrend has won three of the past four men's soccer titles and has once again completed an undefeated regular season in conference play. The Lions and second seed Mount Aloysius College will receive first round byes, as first round games kick off on Saturday.

#1 Penn State Behrend (14-4, 9-0 AMCC) is paced by a balanced offensive attack, as senior forward Matt Dziadosz and sophomore midfielder Aaron Harris lead the Lions with seven goals a piece. Dziadosz also ranks second in the conference with 10 assists on the year. Defensively, the Lions are led by sophomore goalkeeper Chris Ralph, who is tops in the AMCC with a 0.67 goals against average, and is second with a .791 save percentage. 

#2 Mount Aloysius (16-2-1, 8-1) claimed their first league title in 2015 and is hopeful to return the hardware to their campus this postseason. Freshman midfielder Will Funez is third in the conference with 14 goals, while sophomore midfielder Josh Devlin is tied for fourth with 10. Devlin is also tied for third in the conference with eight assists. Sophomore goalkeeper James Eyre has been impressive all season, racking up a league-leading .854 save percentage and a second-best 0.77 goals against average, while his 76 saves on the year put him in fifth.

#3 Medaille College (12-5, 7-2 AMCC) enters the postseason looking for their first conference title since the 2012 season. Sophomore midfielder Mitchell Ali leads the Mavs' attack with 10 goals on the season, tying him for fourth in the conference. Sophomore forward Lachlan Wilkinson, the 2016 Newcomer of the Year and Offensive Co-Player of the Year, is tied for third with eight assists, and also has eight goals on the year. Juniors Callum Christie and Matthew Gabalski have split time between the pipes this season, with Christie recording a .783 save percentage and a 0.84 goals against average and Gabalski with a 1.33 goals against average.

#4 Franciscan University (10-5-2, 5-3-1 AMCC) boasts two-time AMCC Offensive Player of the Year, senior forward Leo Herrmann. Herrmann leads the conference with 17 goals and 41 points and is tied for fifth with seven assists. Senior goalkeeper Thomas Dosedel is fifth in the AMCC with a 1.36 goals against average and sixth with a .747 save percentage

#5 La Roche College (7-10-1, 4-4-1 AMCC) will rely on senior forward Pedro Ansede, who recently broke the school's single season goal record, for their offensive power. Ansede is second in the conference with 15 goals, while junior midfielder Joaquin Vicent Franch has a league-leading 13 assists on the year.

#6 D'Youville College rounds out the field by earning the sixth seed and their first appearance in the postseason since the 2014 season. Sophomore forward Hunter Sherman leads the Spartans and ranks sixth in the conference with nine goals. Freshman goalkeeper Kyle Dick's .750 save percentage is fifth in the league.

First round games will be played on Saturday, October 28, with the top two seeds receiving byes. The semifinals will take place on Wednesday, November 1, with the championship game on Saturday, November 4.  The AMCC champion will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, with the national championship to be played at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro on December 1-2.
