The 2020-21 Penn State Altoona men's golf team was honored for its academic success last school year by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), which included the Lions in their Outstanding Team Academic Awards in July.

Penn State Altoona sophomore Andrew Ferguson and Penn State Behrend sophomore Ryan Meyer have been named AMCC Co-Golfers of the Year.

Meyer was the AMCC Individual Champion with a two-day total of 149. The sophomore carded his season-low best of 74 to stay on top of the leaderboard after day one to claim individual-medalist honors.

Ferguson helped the Lions to a pair of wins in their first two events of the spring this past week. In a dual match victory at Penn State Berks last Monday, he carded an 87 in his first round with the Lions, tying for sixth place individually in a field of 12. In Saturday's first place finish for Penn State Altoona in the Behrend Invitational, he won the individual title out of 26 golfers by shooting 80. On the week, Ferguson averaged 83.5 in two rounds for Penn State Altoona.
