DIGNAN TABBED AS NEW ALFRED STATE MEN'S BASKETBALL HEAD COACH

Jack Dignan has been named the new head men's basketball coach at Alfred State College. Dignan joins Alfred State after spending the past two years as an assistant coach at Colby College.

During his time at Colby, Dignan assisted with recruitment, practice and game preparation, and skill development. Dignan helped the program reach the 2021-2022 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) playoffs, advancing to the Quarterfinals. He was pivotal in their growth, helping the program finish overall #1 in the NESCAC 3-point field-goals made.

Prior to joining the staff at Colby College, Dignan spent two seasons as the assistant coach for Clarkson University. He recruited the 5th ranked player in the country for assist/turnover ratio while also developing a Top 20 All-Time player in points scored during his time at Clarkson. Dignan also spent two years at Sarah Lawrence College where he helped advance the programs overall team record and was imperative in the recruitment of Omar Jamaleddine, who broke the single season scoring record twice. Jamaleddine continues his career professionally, just recently signing a contract with Beirut.

A graduate of SUNY Oneonta with a degree in Communication Studies, Dignan was a four-year standout as both a student and as an athlete. A team captain, starting point guard, and member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Dignan achieved Dean's List honors on three occasions and was on the SUNYAC All-Academic team for three years.

Dignan will begin his duties at Alfred State on August 18th.
