Hughes led the Pios last week as they took down #7 Salisbury and Eastern Connecticut. He went 7-for-16 at the plate for an average of .438 with four doubles, a homerun, and four RBIs. In the win against Salisbury he also pitched 2.0 innings, notching a strikeout.

BEST OF THE REST: La Roche OF Josh Dreyer had an strong start to the season at the plate for La Roche, as he went 4-for-5, picking up two RBI and scoring a run in the Redhawks loss to Chatham, he followed that performance in a 3-2 win over nationally recognized Washington & Jefferson, going 2-for-3 with a double and a triple, driving in two more runs and scoring another...PS-Behrend INF Mac Ciocco finished 5-for-10 for a .500 batting average to go along with four runs-batted and three runs scored in four games at Eastern Mennonite this past weekend, he led the Lions in their 10-8 game one win on Sunday, hitting his first collegiate home run and driving in a game-high three runs...PS-Altoona C Ben Ettien combined to go 3-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and a run scored in last Wednesday's doubleheader split at non-conference opponent Waynesburg...Pitt-Greensburg INF Tommy Smith batted .375 over six games and 24 at bats with a home run and five RBI, he struck out just once and scored three runs...Pitt-Bradford UTIL Maxwell Rogers hit .455 with two doubles, five RBI, two stolen bases and one run scored in a 2-1 week for the Panthers, as he was 3-for-5 and drove in four runs in the 18-6 win over Bethany, he then went 2-for-3 with a run, an RBI and a double in the win over Manchester...Mount Aloysius P/OF Tyler Quade led the Mounties in three wins over Mary Baldwin, as he slashed .375/.615/1.125 for the weekend, while scoring five runs over the three game series, he homered in Game One, the same game he earned the victory on the mound, while then reaching base seven more times for the weekend, with five walks and a 2-for-3 performance on Sunday.
