BEHREND BASEBALL FALLS IN FIRST REGIONAL CONTEST TO NO. 2/18 KEYSTONE

The No. 3 Penn State Behrend baseball team fell in its first game of the regional tournament by a score of 13-1 against No. 2/18 Keystone College, hosted by Denison on Friday afternoon.
Robert Estrada led off the bottom of the first for Keystone with a home run to left field. Andy Rivas followed that with a two-run homer to dead center to give the Giants an early 3-0 lead. Keystone's third long ball of the game came off the bat of Griffin Yastremski to leadoff the second inning. A two-out RBI triple by Chase Boyle extended the Giants advantage to 4-0 in the second inning. The Lions got on the board on a sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth from Thomas Nicely. The Giants tacked on six runs on four hits on three straight RBIs by Boyle, Rivas, and Carlos Pascual to take an 11-1 lead. A sacrifice fly and RBI single put two more runs on the scoreboard for Keystone in the seventh inning. Keystone starter Quinn Holt tossed eight innings to go along with one run, five hits, and eight strikeouts to earn his sixth win of the season. Freshman Chase Caricato threw 2.2 scoreless innings in relief for the Lions, only allowing one hit with three strikeouts. Dylan Barnes finished with two hits at the plate. For the Giants, Boyle went 4-for-5 with two runs batted in.
Behrend next matches up against No. 4 Manchester in an elimination game tomorrow. First pitch is set for noon
