EIGHT AMCC BASEBALL PLAYERS EARN ALL-REGION HONORS
Eight AMCC baseball players were named to the 2025 D3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region 7 Teams. Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools.
Eight AMCC baseball players were named to the 2025 D3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region 7 Teams. Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools.
Earning D3baseball.com First Team honors are Pitt-Greensburg junior 3B Thomas Smith and Pitt-Greensburg junior OF James Domer. Smith was second in the conference in slugging percentage and RBI while ranking third in home runs. Domer was voted AMCC Player of the Year after a year in which he led the nation in batting average and led the conference in slugging percentage and home runs.
Named to the Second Team are Penn State Behrend senior DH Mac Ciocco and Mount Aloysius College junior RP Joey DeRubeis. Ciocco finished second in the AMCC and ninth in the nation with a .452 batting average, while also being first in the conference in hits (71), third in runs batted in (43) and on-base percentage (.527), and fifth in slugging percentage (.611). DeRubeis finished the season tied for 18th nationally with seven saves. His seven saves tied a program record and finished just one behind Alma's Ken Fistler, who held the highest total in Region 7. DeRubeis made 12 appearances in 2025, tossing 13.1 innings and carrying a 2.02 ERA.
Rounding out the D3baseball.com all-region selections are Mount Aloysius graduate student OF Brandon Cook and Penn State Behrend senior RP Joe Lang, who were both named to the Third Team. Cook was honored on the ABCA/Rawlings Second Team and the D3baseball.com Third Team, as an outfielder. Cook led the AMCC with ten home runs and ranked sixth with 36 RBI. He was also in the AMCC top five with 92 total bases and a .648 slugging percentage. His 12 home runs as a Mountie rank him fourth in program history, despite playing just two years in Cresson. Lang, a Third Team selection as a relief pitcher, appeared in 13 games, throwing 26.1 innings out of the bullpen. He was first on the team with a 2.73 ERA and tied for second in the AMCC with five saves. Lang also finished third on the team in strikeouts (34). He struck out his 100th career hitter vs. Hilbert during the regular season.
On the ABCA All-Region 7 team, Domer once again received First Team honors, while Smith, Ciocco, and Cook were named to the Second Team. Hilbert College sophomore OF Joey Haynes and Pitt-Greensburg sophomore P Conner Burkey were each named to the Third Team. Haynes finished 10th in the nation in on base percentage (.571) 12th in the nation in batting average (.459) and only struck out once in 66 plate appearances during AMCC league play. He led the Hawks with a team-best .427 batting average, recording 53 hits, 33 runs, 20 RBI's fueled off seven doubles, one triple and a pair of home runs. Over the course of 36 games, he struck out only eight times, walked 21 times and stole 17 bags.
Burkey, the AMCC Pitcher of the Year, led Division III in complete games (8) and was tied for the conference lead in wins (8). He led the AMCC in conference wins and complete games with six each.
