The Penn State Behrend and Mount Aloysius College baseball teams will square off this weekend in the AMCC Baseball Games of the Week. The Lions will be kicking off their conference schedule against the Mounties, while Mount Aloysius enters the weekend 2-0 in AMCC play.

Behrend begins conference play with an overall record of 10-4. Junior infielder Mac Ciocco has tallied a team-high .449 batting average with 21 RBIs, while freshman David Gibson is second on the Lions with a .388 average. Ciocco has also recorded a team-high in on-base percentage of (.561). On the mound, freshman Colin Bolla leads the team with a zero earned-run average and 19 strikeouts in 9.2 innings pitched, while senior Jeff Zick has delivered a team-high four wins in four starts this season.

Mount Aloysius baseball enters the Penn-State Behrend matchup 12-7 on the year, coming off two wins against AMCC opponent Alfred State. Ranked fourth in preseason polls, Mount Aloysius is led by junior Tyler Quade, named preseason player of the year for the AMCC. Quade currently sits fourth in the conference for batting average (.420), second in stolen bases (13) and has pitched 32 strikeouts this year, good for fifth place on the AMCC leaderboards. Mount Aloysius’s pitching is bolstered by freshman left-hander Anthony Maseto, currently third in the conference for ERA (2.45) and wins (3). Junior outfielder Joshua Brown has made an impact from the batter’s box for the Mounties as well, earning 22 RBI to occupy third place on the AMCC leaderboards, while hitting a conference leading four home runs.
