FORMER HILBERT BASEBALL PLAYER AYDAN ROLPH SIGNS PRO CONTRACT

Hilbert College baseball alum Aydan Rolph has signed a professional contract to play this summer for the Bakersfield Train Robbers of the Pecos League.

The Pecos League is an independent baseball league which operates in cities in desert mountain regions throughout California, New Mexico, Southern Arizona, Kansas, West Texas and Southern Colorado. Pecos Teams play in cities that do not have Major or Minor League Baseball teams and is not affiliated with either. 

The Pecos League has promoted 412 players to higher independent and affiliated teams from 2010-2018. Players are signed from Pecos Spring League, Hudson River League, Pecos League Tryout Camps, and Major League Baseball Scout Referrals.

The Bakersield Train Robbers have been one of the top Pecos teams in recent years, posting a .641 winning percentage since 2017 and won the Pecos League championship in 2018.

Rolph had a decorated college career. The side-winder began his career at Central Christian College in Kansas where he made 31 appearances on the mound over two seasons while logging 39.2 innings pitched and 20 strikeouts. The Wichita, KS native came to Hilbert in the fall of 2020 and made an immediate impact on the program. In 2021, Rolph finished top three on the staff in appearances (8), innings pitched (19.2), earned run average (5.95), strikeouts (18) and batting average against (.260), while leading the Hawks with three wins. His top performance came at Oberlin College where he went five shutout innings in his first collegiate start to pickup the win, earning him AMCC Pitcher of the Week honors. Rolph finished his collegiate career with 64.1 career innings pitched over 44 career appearances and struck out 43 batters.
