MOUNTIES' QUADE MAKES HISTORY; NAMED NEWCOMER, PLAYER, & PITCHER OF THE YEAR

Mount Aloysius College freshman Tyler Quade makes history by becoming the first player in AMCC history to be named the AMCC Baseball Player, Pitcher, and Newcomer of the Year in the same season. Quade jumped onto the scene in 2022, very quickly becoming a force for the Mounties both on the mound and at the plate. At the dish, Quade was one of few two-way players that also hit during the games he pitched. He led the AMCC in batting average, hitting .435 on the season and .476 in conference play. He finished first in the league in triples (4), slugging percentage (.794), and total bases (50) in conference play. He also finished in the top five in home runs (2) and on-base percentage (.514). His .435 average ranks him 36th nationally, which is the third-best mark by a freshman. The average also ranks him fourth in program history in a single season. On the mound, Quade may have been even more dominant, leading the league in wins and batting average against (.157). The freshman made five starts, going 4-1, with a 1.29 ERA, earning a complete game in all five starts. Quade's contributions helped lead the Mounties to their best-ever finish in the AMCC Regular Season.

In 2011, Pitt-Bradford's Michael Pascarella earned both Newcomer and Player of the Year honors, while Penn State Behrend's David Koerbel was named both Pitcher and Player of the Year in 2008.

Mount Aloysius College head coach Kevin Kime has been named the AMCC Coach of the Year for the third time in his career. Kime led the Mounties to a 23-17 overall record, with an 11-5 mark in conference play, including the best regular season finish in program history. Kime also led the Mounties to the first AMCC Baseball Title in program history.
