
Five players from the AMCC were named to the NCAA Division III Mideast ABCA/Rawlings All-Region team. La Roche University senior pitcher Jake Seymour was named to the first team, while Penn State Behrend junior pitcher Thomas Zbezinski earned second team honors. Penn State Altoona senior first baseman Catcher Cumming and freshman third baseman Jake Hillard, along with Behrend sophomore outfielder Colin Harger, were each named to the third team.
Seymour went a perfect 5-0 in regular season play. His five wins were the most among AMCC pitchers. His 0.52 ERA ranked first in the conference and 8th in NCAA D-III. In 34.0 innings pitched, Seymour had 35 strikeouts, five walks and gave up only two earned runs. Seymour pitched four complete games and had three shutout victories. He had three games where he allowed three hits or less and never gave up more than six hits in a game. Seymour notched a career-high 11 K's in a 5-2 win over Mt. Aloysius in the AMCC Game of the Week on April 26th. Seymour was named the AMCC Pitcher of the week on May 13 and 17 and earned NCBWA Honorable Mention NCAA Division III Pitcher of the Week honors on May 19.
Zbezinski led the team and was ranked second in the conference with seven wins and a 1.79 ERA. He made nine appearances this season and threw 55.1 innings. He also led the AMCC and ranked 27th in NCAA DIII statistics in strikeouts with 74, registering a career-high 12 in the AMCC Championships against La Roche on Wednesday. Zbezinski threw his first-collegiate no-hitter in a 6-0 win over Pitt-Bradford on May 8.
Cumming, the AMCC Player of the Year, led the AMCC in home runs (9) and slugging percentage (.778) while also ranking fourth in total bases (70), fifth in runs batted in (31), seventh in triples (2), 10th in runs scored (28), 11th in batting average (.378), 14th in on-base percentage (.458), 15th in hits (34), 17th in sacrifice flies (2), 19th in hit by pitch (4), 29th in walks (11), and 33rd in doubles (5). The senior was also impressive in the field, compiling a .994 fielding percentage while ranking fifth among all AMCC fielders in putouts (168) and 12th in double plays (11).
Hillard, the AMCC Newcomer of the Year, emerged as one of the top hitters in the AMCC this season in just his freshman year. In the conference, he ranked second in total bases (73), third in slugging percentage (.737) and doubles (13), fourth in RBI (32), 11th in hits (37), 14th in batting average (.374), 17th in sacrifice flies (2), 19th in runs scored (25), 20th in triples (1), 26th in on-base percentage (.418), and 39th in walks (9). In the field, the freshman was 21st in assists (35) and 29th in double plays (4).
Harger led the AMCC in batting average at .444. The sophomore had 13 multiple-hit games and had a 16-game hitting streak. Harger tallied a career-best five hits in the AMCC semifinals against Mt. Aloysius. He ranked second on the team doubles (11) and was third with 49 hits. Harger scored 27 runs and drove in 24 runs during the regular season.
