SWOPE, ROHRER TABBED FOR ECAC SOUTH PLAYERS OF THE WEEK RECOGNITION

The ECAC has chosen Penn St. Altoona outfielder Jordan Swope and Penn St. Behrend pitcher Justin Rohrer as Division III South Co-Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Swope went on a tear last week, helping the Lions to three wins, including splits with AMCC opponents Pitt-Greensburg and Pitt-Bradford, to secure a spot in the post-season. For the week, he batted .550 (11-for-20) with four doubles, one home run, seven RBI, and eight runs scored. He also walked three times and stole one base. Swope's on-base percentage for the week was .609, and he slugged .900. He posted multi-hit games in three of his five contests in the week.

In the Lions doubleheader sweep of Pitt-Greensburg on April 26, Rohrer earned the save in game one. The freshman stayed on the hill and went the distance as the starting pitcher in game two, striking out five. He also earned the save in Behrend's 6-5 victory over Houghton on April 21.  In 29.1 innings of work this season, Rohrer has compiled an AMCC-leading 0.92 ERA. The freshman is also tied for first in the conference with three saves.
