AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR FEBRUARY 3-9, 2025

The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of men's & women's basketball and wrestling and volleyball for the period running from February 3-9, 2025.

Women's Basketball: Carlow G Sydney Carr averaged 24 points and shot 50 percent from the field to help lift Carlow to two AMCC victories last week. Against Pitt Greensburg she led the Celtics with a double-double, game-high 20 points and 15 rebounds. She dished out four assists and picked up four steals. Against Pitt Bradford, she led Carlow with 28 points, nine assists and four steals. For the week, Carr averaged 24.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 4.0 steals per game. 

Men's Basketball: Pitt-Bradford G Jeremy Rodriguez led the Panthers to another 2-0 week, averaging 27.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.5 steals per game. In the triple-OT win at Hilbert, he scored 39 points and recorded a double-double, gathering 10 rebounds. He scored the last eight points in the second overtime, including the game-tying three in the 2nd overtime and then followed that up with 13 in the third.

Men's Wrestling: Alfred State SO Brent Perry (197) bounced back after suffering a loss in his opening match, as he followed with a 10-4 decision win over Nathan Coon (St. John Fisher). After notching back-to-back falls over Judson Ferris (St. John Fisher) in 2:28 and Geoffry Kaminsky (Ohio Wesleyan) in 2:43, he earned a spot in the third-place match. In that match, he took a 5-3 decision win over Simon Lingle (Brockport) for third place, as he went 4-1 on the day.

Men's Volleyball (Offensive): PS-Altoona S Mason Grover helped power the Lions' offense in a 3-1 week of non-conference play at home. In Tuesday night's win over Chatham, the sophomore setter posted 51 assists -- the sixth-most in a match in team history -- while chipping in three service aces and a pair of kills. During a Friday night loss to Randolph, Mason finished with 34 assists and an ace. On Saturday, in sweeps of Randolph and Gallaudet, he had 38 assists, an ace, and a kill against the WildCats, then followed that with 20 assists versus the Bison. On the week, Mason had 143 assists (10.21 assists per set) while adding 11.5 points on six total blocks, five aces, and three kills.

Men's Volleyball (Defensive): Hilbert S George Muriel held down the Hawks defense with 29 digs (2.90 digs per set), nine total blocks (0.90 blocks per set), and 47 assists, in addition to eight kills, hitting .250 and adding four aces.
