AMCC 25TH ANNIVERSARY DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI SERIES: JOSEY BREWER, ALFRED STATE COLLEGE

Josey Brewer attended Alfred State College to pursue two of her loves: animals and swimming.

Brewer was part of the first women's swimming team at Alfred State that competed in the AMCC. The Pioneer roster was evolving and growing. Brewer and Pioneers finished third in the AMCC both in the 2017 and 2018 championship meet. Brewer swam the breaststroke, the IM, and was part of numerous relays.

Graduating from Alfred State with a Vet Tech degree, Brewer’s professional career started quickly and prompted her to get certified in sports massage therapy for both equine and canines. That knowledge base led to her starting her own business, Josey’s Sports Massage Therapy. Her business has doubled in the last year and a half and she was able to add infrared and LED light therapy.

Her business success has led her to want even more. Brewer has a desire to open up her own facility for the rehab of equine and canines so she enrolled at SUNY Morrisville in their Equine Science program.

Armed with a work ethic strengthened by her time in the pool and in the classroom, Brewer looks to continue to help animals.

The Distinguished Alumni Series is part of the AMCC's 25th anniversary where the conference will be recognizing former AMCC student-athletes who have excelled in their area of study. The Distinguished Alumni Series will run every Thursday throughout the academic year.
