MEDAILLE'S PARKS, BEHREND'S OBERLANDER EARN FAR AWARDS

Medaille College's Andrew Parks and Penn State Behrend's Jordan Oberlander have been selected as the recipients of the 2018 AMCC Faculty Athletics Representatives Award.  Parks and Oberlander were chosen from among 18 outstanding student-athletes named to the All-Academic Team.

Parks, a Communications major and a member of the Maverick baseball team, has recorded a 3.97 GPA through his junior year. He has been a member of the Academic All-Conference team all three years and is a two-time Peak Performer recipient. Additionally, the rising senior is a five-time Dean’s List selection (Fall 2015-Fall 2017), a member of the Medaille College Honors Program (2015 - Present), and is a member of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society (Fall 2017 – Present). Parks appeared in seven games this season, starting once. He struck out five batters, including a season high two against Penn State Behrend.

Oberlander graduated this spring with a 3.60 GPA in Mechanical Engineering. A forward on the women's soccer team, she was the AMCC and ECAC Player of the Year, a United Soccer scholar all-American, and a CoSIDA academic all-American. She is a member of the Dean's List, Lambda Sigma Honor Society, and the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society. Oberlander volunteered for four years with the TOPS soccer program, a program designed to help teach disabled children the game of soccer. She was also a Grady's Decision participant, a tutuor for engineering classes, and a Design of a Life Cycle Monitor, where she monitored flights taking off and landing.

MALE BEST OF THE REST: D'Youville College JR basketball player William Van Aucken graduated with a 3.989 with a degree in Exercise Sport Studies, along with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, he was the D'Youville Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year (2017 & 2018), and AMCC Peak Performer three years in a row,  and was selected to the NABC Honors Court (2017)...Franciscan University SR men's tennis player Jarek Sulak graduated summa cum laude with a 3.97 GPA as a double major in Theology and Philosophy, he led his team to four consecutive conference championships and is a five-time AMCC all-conference first team selection...Hilbert College SR men's lacrosse player Austin Good graduated with a 3.69 GPA as a Criminal Justice major with a minor in Forensic Science/CSI/Leadership, was a two-time AMCC academic all-conference member, a three-time NEAC academic all-conference scholar-athlete, a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society, while being second on the team in caused turnovers and contributing to a defensive unit that limited their NEAC opponents to 6.75 goals per game...Mount Aloysius SR baseball player Dalton Garlock graduated summa cum laude with a 3.90 GPA in the Business Administration program, was a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, a Mercy Presidential Scholar, while being named a 2017 third team all-conference performer as an outfielder and also volunteering with Salvation Army Project Bundle Up for four years...Penn State Altoona SO Tanner Yaw is a three-sport athlete on the men's soccer, volleyball, and swimming teams, while holding down a 3.93 GPA as a Business major, as he was also the high point scorer on the men's swimming team this past year and also holds the PSA record for the 400 yard IM...Penn State Behrend SR soccer player Josh Kolarac graduated in December with a 3.87 in Advertising, he was a member of the AMCC all-academic team, Chi Alpha Sigma honor society, and was an AMCC all-conference third team selection, along with being a member of SAAC and volunteering with the TOPS soccer program...Pitt-Bradford SO baseball player Tyler Hoops has a 3.71 GPA as a Biology/Pre-Med major and is a member of the academic all-conference team, he has volunteered his time with the Special Olympics, and has been the starting shortstop his first two season with the Panthers, including a third team all-conference nod in 2017...Pitt-Greensburg SR Joe Mancini graduated with a 3.52 GPA in Chemistry, he is a four-time AMCC academic all-conference selection and a three-time Peak Performer, he is member of the UPG SAAC committee, and ranks fourth all-time in school history with 160 career three-point field goals while averaging 10.6 ppg his senior season.

FEMALE BEST OF THE REST: D'Youville College JR women's tennis player Gillian Wittig has a 3.93 GPA as an International Business major and was named the 2018 DYC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, she is a member of the AMCC all-academic team and the Study Abroad CAPA Sydney Program, as well as SAAC and the International Students Club....Franciscan University SR women's lacrosse player Mary Krolicki graduated magna cum laude with a 3.74 GPA as a double major in Management and Spanish, she has done extensive missionary work off the lacrosse field, while on the field she was an AMCC all-conference first team selection and surpassed the previous Lady Barons' record of career scoring with over 124 goals...Hilbert College SR cross country runner Samantha Bugenhagan graduated with a 3.93 GPA in Criminal Justice, is a four-year AMCC academic all-conference member and individual Peak Performer, while helping lead her cross country team to three AMCC Team Peak Performer Awards...Medaille College JR women's lacrosse player Kelsey Beres carries a perfect 4.0 GPA in Early Childhood/Childhood Education, is a member of the AMCC academic all-conference team and an AMCC Peak Performer, she was named to the NEAC all-conference third team and currently has 59 career goals along with nine assists...Mount Aloysius SR women's basketball player Abigayle Kulick graduated summa cum laude with a 3.94 GPA in Business Administration, was named MAC's senior female scholar-athlete, and is a member of the Delta Epsilon Sigma honor society and the Chi Alpha Sigma honor society, she earned the coach's award freshman and senior year, and volunteered with the "Shoot for a Cure" basketball tournament and served lunches at a local church...Penn State Altoona SO women's volleyball player Lauren Diller carries a 3.72 GPA as an Education major, she led her team in kills, kills per set, and digs, and was named to the AMCC all-conference first team...Pitt-Bradford SR women's soccer player Kaitlyn Williams graduated with a 3.93 GPA in Athletic Training, she was a three-time recipient of the scholar-athlete award, as well as an academic all-conference honoree, she led her soccer team in scoring and assists and has been an avid supporter of the Special Olympics during her time at UPB...Pitt-Greensburg SO Colleen Murphy has a 3.88 GPA in Secondary Education, she is a two-sport athlete as she plays both basketball and softball and was named the UPG female scholar-athlete of the year, in addition to her sports and studies she also serves as a University Presidential Ambassador.
