BEHREND'S NOLA NAMED RUNNER OF THE YEAR AS ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM IS ANNOUNCED
Penn State Behrend freshman Olivia Nola has been named the AMCC Runner of the Year.
Penn State Behrend freshman Olivia Nola has been named the AMCC Runner of the Year. Nola was the fastest runner for the Lions in each race and holds three of the top four top times in the AMCC this season. She completed the 2021 season without being beaten by another AMCC runner in any race. In her collegiate debut she placed 13th at the Houghton Invitational. She was the individual champion at the AMCC Championship with a 1:44.8 margin of victory.
Medaille College junior Erin Hardick is the AMCC Newcomer of the Year. Hardick had an impressive first season running cross country for the Mavericks. She totaled three first place finishes out of nine races. She placed first at the 13th Annual Meghan Memorial Race at Hilbert College in a 5K race finishing with a time of 21:40. She placed first at the Medaille/Hilbert dual race at Hilbert. In the 4K, she finished with a time of 17:13. Her last first place finish was another dual race against Hilbert, this time at home, at Delaware Park. In this 4K, she finished with a time of 19:02. Her third place finish in the AMCC Championship race was a 6K with a time of 28:47.
Alfred State College head coach Tim Giagios earns his first Coach of the Year honors on the women's side. Giagios led the Pioneers to a second place finish at the AMCC championship meet.
