Shannon Edwards, Defensive Player of the Week, Pitt-Greensburg

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Pitt-Greensburg GK Shannon Edwards was tremendous in goal for the Bobcats, helping them to a 1-0-1 week in the AMCC. She recorded 11 saves in a 1-1 tie against Penn St. Altoona, followed by a standout seven-save shutout in a 1-0 victory over the AMCC's leading goal-scoring team Penn State Behrend. The victory over Behrend was a first for UPG since 2002, while also clinching a playoff spot in this year's AMCC playoffs. On the week, Edwards played 200 minutes in goal, made 18 saves and only gave up one goal for a .947 save percentage.

 

BEST OF THE REST:  Pitt-Bradford GK Sarah Dailey led Pitt-Bradford to another 2-0 week... The only goal she allowed came via a penalty kick in a 2-1 victory over Penn State Altoona...D'Youville GK Megan Dulniak made seven saves in a 1-0 loss to UPB and added 10 saves in the team's 2-0 win over La Roche...Mt. Aloysius D Kady Bills, from a center back position, led the backline in a 1-1 week that saw the Mounties allow just two goals, holding LRC's top scorer scoreless, and helped limit Medaille to four shots on goal...PS-Altoona D Ali Wilson had a strong week anchoring her team's back line, helping the Lady Lions give up just three goals in two AMCC games, including a 1-1 tie at Pitt-Greensburg on Tuesday...La Roche D Hayley Shaw helped the Lady Redhawks shutout Mt. Aloysius with a spectacular defensive performance on Tuesday...Hilbert GK Aurora Klawinksi kept a clean sheet in the second half against Franciscan registering 3 saves.
