PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PS-Altoona OH Frank Perehinec was strong for the Lions in a 2-2 week against challenging opponents, as Penn State Altoona posted sweeps of Wilkes and SUNY Potsdam while losing to No. 6 ranked Wells and Division II Daemen. In four matches, Frank totaled 35.5 points, averaging 3.0 points per set. He totaled 30 kills (2.50 kills per set), 19 digs (1.58 digs per set), seven total blocks (0.58 blocks per set), and three assists (0.25 assists per set). Frank's attack percentage on the week was a very solid .339.

 

BEST OF THE REST: D'Youville OH/MB Dan Busha had another strong weekend for the Spartans, leading the team to their first win after two career matches, as he recorded seven kills with two digs and a service ace in a loss to Alvernia, he then recorded a career match with his first career double-double as he recorded 12 kills and 10 digs in the 3-1 loss to Baruch, and then ended the weekend by recording his second career double-double with 10 digs and 20 kills, breaking his career high set the match before as the Spartans won their first match of the season 3-0 over Neumann...Hiram OH Tom Supan recorded a game-high 19 kills in a 3-2 win over Indiana Tech, he then tied for a game-high (and set a new career-high) with 23 kills in a 3-2 win over Trine, Supan also tallied a season-high 11 digs against Trine, recording his first double-double of the year..PS-Behrend OH JP Goodsell recorded a team-best 12 kills to go with seven digs and three blocks to help the Lions defeat Thiel in the AMCC opener on Thursday night, 3-1...Medaille MB Shawn Barbalato was a key piece in the Mavs' 2-1 weekend, as the senior averaged 2.55 kills per set and led the team on the weekend with 28 total kills, while also tacking on five aces and 15 digs...Wittenberg OH Jackson Tyler tallied 17 kills in the Tigers' five-set win on the road at MSJ on the weekend, logging a .286 hitting percentage on 42 total attack attempts, while also finishing with two blocks and five blocks...Thiel OH Mitch Patterson recorded 3.86 kills per set and 1.43 digs per set as the Tomcats went 0-2 on the week.
