MOUNT ALOYSIUS TO ADD MEN'S VOLLEYBALL

Mount Aloysius College will be adding men's volleyball as a varsity sport, beginning in the 2021-22 school year.

Men's volleyball will be the 16th NCAA-sponsored sport offered at Mount Aloysius. It will be the newest addition, since women's lacrosse was added in 2019-20.

The Mountie men's volleyball program will compete in the AMCC, along with the majority of the other Mountie programs. The AMCC announced, back in January, that with the addition of Saint Vincent as an affiliate member, the conference would receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, beginning in the Spring of 2021.

"We are very excited to add men's volleyball to our athletic department," said Athletic Director, Kevin Kime. "It's a growing sport in our region and we believe that we can build a competitive program in the AMCC, going forward."

Mount Aloysius will join Medaille College, Penn State Altoona, and Penn State Behrend as the full-AMCC member institutions that sponsor Men's Volleyball. The AMCC affiliate members include; Geneva College, Hiram College, Saint Vincent College, and Thiel College. Wittenberg University was a former affiliate member, departing the AMCC, following the 2019-20 school year. Former full member, D'Youville College, also departed the AMCC this summer, to transition to NCAA Division II.

Wittenberg was the 2019 AMCC regular season champion. The 2020 season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mount Aloysius currently sponsors baseball, men's and women's basketball, women's bowling, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, women's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, softball, men's and women's tennis, and women's volleyball.

Mount Aloysius is currently in the process of searching for a Head Coach. Interested parties that would like to apply can find the Human Resources/Employment page here.
