Michael Lennox, Medaille College, Defensive Player of the Week
Lennox was a rock for the Mavericks this week, helping the Mavs earn two clean sheets in a 2-0 week. Lennox helped anchor a back line that surrendered just 12 total shots and just three shots on goal against Thiel and the defending AMCC Champion Mount Aloysius Mounties. Adding to his work on the defensive side, Lennox also scored his first goal of the season against the Mounties, heading home a beautiful set piece off a corner kick.

BEST OF THE REST: PS-Behrend D Evan Augustine helped the team's shutdown defense in a 3-1 victory against Westminster as well as a 1-0 shutout in the conference opener against Pitt-Greensburg, while also recording his first goal of the season against Westminster which turned out to be the game winner...Franciscan GK Thomas Dosedel worked his second shutout of the season in the Barons' 2-0 win to open conference play against Hilbert, finishing the week with a .76 GAA with eight saves in a 2-1 week...PS-Altoona D Eric Alesius continued to be a rock defensively for the Lions, leading the team's back line in a 2-0 week, helping his team to allow only one goal in two games, and limiting their opponents to a combined seven shots on goal...Mount Aloysius GK Kyle Lachance helped lead the Mounties in a 2-1 week, making three saves in a victory over Juniata before making four saves, including a critical penalty kick stop in the second half, in a win over Wilson, then adding nine saves in a defeat to Medaille...La Roche D Nick Shaw helped La Roche to a 1-1 week with a goal against Geneva...Hilbert D Brandon Ciesielski had a good game this weekend leading the defensive line and being strong in the 1v1 defensive situation.
