  • Kirk Hawkins, Medaille College, Men's Basketball
    November 18, 2019
    Hawkins led the AMCC last week in scoring, averaging 26.0 points per game. Hawkins started out the week with a career-best 30 points in a 100-110 loss at #21 Wooster. Hawkins followed that up with a 29 point, six assist effort against Buffalo State. He wrapped up the week with a 19 point, six assist effort against Morrisville St, helping head coach Keith Hack get his first career win as a head coach. On the week, Hawkins shot 51.1% from the field, 46.2% from three-point range and 81.8% from the free throw line. He also averaged 5.0 assists per game and 2.0 steals per game. Hawkins was also named to the Buffalo State Coles Classic All-Tournament Team.

    The Hamilton College (24-4) men's basketball team erased an 11-point lead and scored six of their final eight points from the free-throw line to defeat Penn State Behrend (23-5) 72-70 in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Division III Tournament on Friday night.

    The Medaille College and Franciscan University men's basketball teams saw their seasons come to a close this evening as they both lost in the first round of the ECAC Tournament. Medaille fell to Marywood University 89-77, while Grove City College defeated Franciscan 73-60.

    Gorny recorded double-digit points during the AMCC Tournament, scoring 13 in the semifinals and a team-best 14 in the championship game. The senior shot 50 percent from the floor and three-point range, while grabbing 11 total rebounds. Gorny scored the Lions final six points in the title game to help Behrend hold on for the win.

    The second-seeded Penn St. Behrend men's basketball team claimed their sixth AMCC conference title, and first since 2014, as they defeated #1 La Roche College 67-65 on Sunday evening.

    Top-seeded La Roche College narrowly avoided a semifinal upset, as they forced overtime against #4 Mount Aloysius College to advance to the AMCC men's basketball championship game Sunday afternoon. The Redhawks will take on #2 Penn St. Behrend, 82-52 winners over #3 Medaille College in the night cap game.

    The higher seeds were both victorious in the first round of the AMCC Men's Basketball Championship Tournament Wednesday night, as #3 Medaille College earned the 85-74 victory over #6 Franciscan University and #4 Mount Aloysius College won its first ever home post-season game, defeating #5 D'Youville College 72-57.

    The La Roche College men's basketball team went a perfect 18-0 in conference play and claimed their second straight AMCC regular season title and hosting rights to the 2019 AMCC Men's Basketball Championship Tournament.
  • Jeremy VanDuluitgaarden, D'Youville College, Men's Basketball
    February 18, 2019
    VanDuluitgaarden capped off the final regular season of his career in dominant fashion, leading the Spartans to their first postseason trip since 2014-15. VanDuluitgaarden averaged 27.3 points, 15.7 rebounds, 2.0 blocks, and 2.0 assists in three games. He began the week with 19 points and 19 rebounds in a four-point loss to Medaille. He added three steals and three assists in the game. Then on Wednesday in a 77-76 win over Hilbert, VanDuluitgaarden tied a career high with 32 point and five rebounds, adding 13 rebounds as he hit the game-tying and game-winning free throws with 0:00.4 on the game clock. VanDuluitgaarden then went for 31 and 15 rebounds in the loss to Franciscan on Saturday. At the end of the regular season, VanDuluitgaarden ended the season leading the conference in scoring and rebounding at 18.5 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game. 
  • AMCC MEN'S BASKETBALL GAME OF THE WEEK: MOUNT ALOYSIUS @ MEDAILLE

    The final AMCC men's basketball game of the week for the 2019 season features the Mount Aloysius College Mounties traveling to Buffalo, NY to take on the Mavericks of Medaille College. The Mounties and Mavericks both carry 10-7 conference records and are tied for third place in league standings as they enter the final regular season game.

    Frederick averaged a double-double in two conference wins. He scored 19 points and pulled down 7 boards in a 66-51 win at Franciscan on Wednesday. He then had 18 points and 17 rebounds in an 81-75 AMCC Regular Season clinching victory over Medaille on Saturday.

    Penn State Behrend senior forward Dan Wanker tallied 16 points to reach 1,000 career points and help the Penn State Behrend men's basketball team defeat Franciscan University 77-43 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) on Saturday afternoon.
  • Cam Seigfreid, Pitt-Greensburg, Men's Basketball

    Seigfreid eclipsed the 20-point plateau in both games for Pitt-Greensburg this past week. He averaged 21.5 points, seven rebounds, shot 51.9% from the floor, and hit all 11 of his free-throw attempts, including 9-for-9 against Penn State Altoona. Seigfreid scored 23 points on 6-of-11 from the floor and hit all nine of his attempts in the 93-80 victory over the Lions. He followed his performance against Altoona with his first career double-double, totaling 20 points and 10 boards against the Mavericks. Seigfreid currently ranks fifth in the conference in scoring (15.5 points) and has seven games with 20 or more points.

    The Penn State Behrend (17-2, 10-2 AMCC) men's basketball team will host the La Roche College Redhawks (17-2, 12-0 AMCC) in the AMCC Game of the Week on Wednesday, January 30 at 8 p.m.

    January 28, 2019
    Gould led the Redhawks to a 3-0 week to keep La Roche undefeated in conference play at 12-0. Gould averaged 21.3 points, 5.3 three-pointers, and 3.7 assists per game in three conference victories. He opened the week with a 23 point, four assist performance in a Monday victory at Hilbert. He then scored 24 points and hit six three-pointers in a Wednesday win over Pitt-Greensburg. Gould capped the week with a 17 point, seven assist, three steal output in Saturday's victory over D'Youville.
