HILBERT, MEDAILLE TO MEET IN MEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY

The underdog Hawks (21-6) were 64-59 victors over top seeded and two-time defending champions Penn St. Behrend (23-3). Hilbert was led by all-AMCC forward Jerame Owens who poured in 21 points and added 10 rebounds. Also in double figures were Trevor Stark (12) and Sean Weisanal (11). The Lions' freshman standout Zane Hackett had 20 points and 5 rebounds, while teammate Wes Davic recorded 8 points and 18 boards.
Medaille (18-7) held a one point advantage at the half then held on to get past third seeded Pitt-Greensburg, 79-73. The Mavericks got help from all-conference performer Jammal Coleman, who had 20 points, plus another 20 from Chris Willingham. The Bobcats (14-13), who were the only AMCC team to defeat Behrend in the regulas season, were led by Rocco Contristano with 20 and Jerell Figueroa with 21.
Hilbert is looking for their first ever league title while Medaille will be aiming for their fourth. The championship will tip off at 3pm at the Penn St. Behrend Junker Center. The winner will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
