Penn St. Behrend senior Nick DeLisio has been named the AMCC Men's Basketball Player of the Year, while D'Youville senior Julian Reed is Defensive Player of the year, and La Roche freshman Arnes Bajgora is Newcomer of the Year.
DeLisio, a three-time AMCC all-conference selection, was the heart and soul of the Lions, who were the top seed and host for the AMCC men's basketball tournament. He led the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio with 2.0 and ranked second in the AMCC with 4.6 assists per game. His 43.8% from long range put him 19th in the nation and fourth in the AMCC.
Reed has been a defensive force for the Spartans all season long. He led the AMCC in blocks with 104, which three nearly three times as many as the next player. Reed averaged 4.2 blocks per game, and recorded at least two blocks in 24 of 25 games this season. On December 30 against Houghton, Reed recorded a career high 10 blocks in a triple-double effort. Nationally, Reed ranks second in total blocks and blocks per game. Reed is also second in the conference with 180 defensive rebounds.
Bajgora led all freshman in the AMCC with 13.4 points per game, including 15.7 points per game against AMCC opponents. He grabbed 6.3 rebounds per game, also the most among freshmen. He recorded four double-doubles during his freshman campaign and finished the season scoring in double figures in 19 of 25 games, including one 30 point performance.
D'Youville College's Earl Schunk has been tabbed as the AMCC Coach of the Year. After finishing with an overall record of 1-24 (1-17 AMCC) in 2013-14, Schunk led the Spartans to a 10-16 (8-10 AMCC) finish in 2014-15 and a trip to the AMCC tournament.
