Former La Roche Roche College baseball starting pitcher Tyler Ferguson has signed a professional contract to play for the Washington Wild Things.
Ferguson was the 2015 AMCC Pitcher of the Year and a two-time All-Region selection. He was also a four-time AMCC All-Conference performer and graduated from La Roche as the school's all-time wins and strikeouts leader.
The Wild Things are a part of the Frontier League and play their games at Consol Energy Park (Washington, PA). Twenty-Seven Frontier League alumni have played in the MLB including All-Star pitcher George Sherril.
Ferguson is the second Redhawk to play professional baseball, following George Nahay who was with the White Sands Pupfish in 2012.
