AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR NOVEMBER 25-DECEMBER 1

The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of men's & women's basketball for the period running from November 25-December 1, 2024. 

Men's Basketball: Hilbert G Shaheem Ellis continues to be a driving force for the Hilbert Hawks, leading his team to a 1-0 week while solidifying his status as one of the top players in the conference. Ellis currently leads the conference in three major categories: made three-pointers (21), total points (140), and assists (32), while his dynamic performances are key to the Hawks' ongoing success. In the Hawks' latest contest, Ellis showcased his efficiency and versatility. Playing 32 minutes, he delivered 24 points on 50.0% shooting from the field (7-14), including three three-pointers. Ellis also demonstrated poise at the free-throw line, converting 7-of-8 attempts (87.5%). On the boards, he pulled down seven rebounds (1 offensive, 6 defensive) and added four assists and one steal.

Women's Basketball: PS-Altoona F Avana Sayles had 18 points, nine rebounds, two steals, one assist, and one block in the Lions' road win at AMCC rival Mount Aloysius last Tuesday night.
