AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR MARCH 10-16, 2025
The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of men's & women's lacrosse, men's volleyball, tennis and baseball, and women's softball for the period running from March 10-16, 2025.

Women's Lacrosse (Offensive): Mount Aloysius M Cassidy Cook led the Mounties on offense against Geneva, as they recorded their first win of the season. She had a team-high four goals, while also adding an assist, to lead the Mounties with five points. Cook also picked up two ground balls and grabbed seven draw controls.
Women's Lacrosse (Defensive): La Roche M Kiki Nemcek put together one of the best all-around games in La Roche's young program history. In a 12-9 win over St. Vincent, Nemcek led the way defensively, causing a career-high nine turnovers, only one off the program record, scooped up a career-best seven ground balls and brought in four draw controls. On the offensive end, Nemcek scored four goals and added an assists for five points.
Men's Lacrosse (Defensive): Hilbert LSM/FO Taivaughn Roach was a rock at the faceoff x and played lockdown defense in a (1-1) week. He has become the primary faceoff man for the Hawks and he was stellar in their (8-3) road win at Bryn Athyn.
Softball (Player): PS-Behrend 3B Jocelyn McNany hit .522 over eight games, recording seven extra-base hits out of 12 total for the week. She smacked a pair of home runs, four doubles and one triple, while scoring eight runs and driving in eight runs. McNany had three doubles in the win over Kean and two home runs vs. Saint Joseph's.
Softball (Pitcher): PS-Altoona SO Josselyn Nau went 3-0 with three complete games in her last three starts of the week in the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic. On Wednesday against King's, she tossed seven innings, allowed only three hits, one earned run, and one walk, and struck out five batters. Thursday against William Peace, the sophomore pitched seven frames and allowed four runs with two strikeouts. Nau ended her week against Mississippi University for Women on Friday, going five innings, allowing six hits, one run, and no walks, and having a pair of strikeouts. On the week, Nau was 3-0 with a 1.84 ERA, pitched 19 innings, and struck out nine batters.
Baseball (Player): Alfred State INF Caleb Walker help lead the Pioneers to a 5-3 week in Florida, including a walk off RBI single to get a win over Skidmore in extra innings. He batted .409, tallying two triples and a homerun for six RBI, while also adding three stolen bases. In the field, Walker helped the Pios turn seven double plays.
Baseball (Pitcher): Alfred State JR Zachary Nelson picked up a win and a save on the week after pitching 10.1 innings for a 3.48 ERA and seven strikeouts.
Men's Tennis: PS-Altoona JR Nick Beard teamed up with Casey Hess for a 6-0 victory in the No. 1 doubles match, then posted the match-clinching win for the Lions with his 7-5, 6-2 triumph at No. 2 singles in Saturday's 7-0 win at non-conference opponent Penn College.
