The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of men's & women's basketball and men's volleyball and baseball for the period running from February 17-23, 2025.

Men's Basketball: Pitt-Greensburg G/F Matthew Marinchak averaged 22.5 points per game in a 2-0 week for the Bobcats. He recorded a game-high of 30 points against Mount Aloysius in their first game of the week. He followed that up on Saturday against top ranked Pitt-Bradford with 15 points, including the game-winner, with 13 seconds left to secure the No. 2 seed for the Bobcats in the upcoming conference tournament.
Women's Basketball: La Roche G/F Alexis Robison had a great final week of the regular season, helping the Redhawks go 2-0. In Wednesday's victory over Carlow, Robison scored 26 points, hitting 10 shots from the field, five of which were from three, to go alongside nine rebounds, three assists and three steals. She followed that performance in the regular season finale victory over Penn State Altoona with 13 points, five rebounds and two assists. For the week, Robison averaged 19.5 points, seven rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals and a block.
Men's Volleyball (Offensive): PS-Altoona OPP Caleb Fries continued his strong freshman season in a 2-1 week of non-conference play for the Lions. In Wednesday night's road win at Hood, he had 15 points on 12 kills, two aces, and two block assists. He followed that up with 11 points on 10 kills and a solo block in a loss to Nichols Saturday morning, then recorded 16 points on 15 kills and an ace in a sweep over Wittenberg later that evening. On the week, Caleb totaled 42 points (4.7 points per set), 37 kills (4.11 kills per set), three service aces (0.33 aces per set), and three total blocks (0.33 blocks per set). He also compiled a .267 attack percentage, and he was named to the All-Tournament team for the Nichols match during the Juniata Invitational.
Men's Volleyball (Defensive): Hilbert S George Muriel had a standout week leading the Hawks defensively in a 2-1 week, recording 21 digs and six total blocks across the three games. He started the week off with four digs and two total blocks in a 3-0 sweep of Houghton, then recorded nine digs and two blocks in a loss to SUNY Poly before finishing the week with eight digs and two more blocks in 3-0 win over SUNY Potsdam.
Baseball (Player): PS-Altoona INF/RHP Corey Chamberlain had a great day at the plate to help the Lions start their season with a doubleheader sweep of non-conference opponent Mary Baldwin on the road. In the two games combined, the senior went 4-for-7 (.571 / .700 /.857) with seven RBI, three runs scored, two doubles, and two walks.
Baseball (Pitcher): Mount Aloysius SO Anthony Maseto was the most effective pitcher for the Mounties during their opening weekend. He came on in Game Two, holding Wm. Patterson to no runs and just one hit over the final four frames, while also striking out two batters. Maseto has a strong start to the season, as he kicks the year off with a 0.00 ERA and a 0.50 WHIP.
Men's Lacrosse (Offensive): Alfred State A Griffin Doan led the Pioneers to their first victory of the season, a 15-10 win over Centennary. Doan recorded a haul (four goals) and two assists, while also picking up three ground balls in the victory.
Men's Lacrosse (Defensive): Alfred State G Matthew Burris picked up a win in goal after tallying seven saves as the Pioneers defeated Centennary 15-10 on Sunday.
