AMCC 25TH ANNIVERSARY THEN & NOW SERIES: CODY TROUTMAN, HILBERT COLLEGE

Cody Troutman got his start in the AMCC as a member of the Hilbert College men’s basketball team. He enrolled after a stellar career at Jamestown Community College and graduated with honors from Hilbert in 2012.

Troutman was recognized as a 2009 NJCAA Region III Second-Team selection while at Jamestown CC and helped led the Hawks to the semifinals in the 2011-12 AMCC Tournament. He was an AMCC All-Academic selection in 2011 while also being named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court in 2012.

Troutman started 35 games, collected 314 points, 130 rebounds, and dished out 117 assists in 51 games while wearing the white and royal. He then transitioned into a coaching role on the sidelines of his alma mater beginning in 2015. 

The Pine Valley High School graduate is currently in his seventh season as deGrandpre’s longest tenured assistant coach.  He assists with all facets of the program including recruiting, scouting, and practice as well as game-day planning.

Since his arrival on the sideline, the Hilbert men’s basketball team has advanced into the AMCC postseason tournament five of the last six seasons with a 63-45 league record.

Troutman graduated from Hilbert in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He and his wife currently own and operate an Airbnb property in Ellicottville, N.Y.
