AMCC 25TH ANNIVERSARY DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI SERIES: KYLIE REINHOLZ, HILBERT COLLEGE

From the first day that Kylie Reinholz stepped on Hilbert College’s campus in the summer of 2004, the Athletic Department knew she was special.

Reinholz attended Hilbert College’s popular overnight girl’s basketball camp several summers in a row and her intensity and focus as a camper impressed the women’s basketball camp staff, even back then when she was just 10 years old.

Reinholz enrolled at Hilbert in the fall of 2013 and the rest is history.  She dedicated herself academically and athletically and has been able to apply all those experiences in her professional life today.

Reinholz was a four-year leader in the women’s cross country program and was named the AMCC Women’s Cross Country Newcomer of the Year in 2013, the AMCC Runner of the Year in 2014 and balanced the academic grind of graduate school her final two seasons while racing for the Hawks.

Reinholz was a four-time AMCC all-conference runner, given the team’s Most Valuable Runner award all four seasons and established her personal record of 23:59.1 at the 2015 NCAA Mideast Regional race;  all of these awards earned from a former basketball player who picked up road races as a hobby with her father John Reinholz, a retired investigator and current associate professor in Hilbert College’s Forensic Science/CSI program.

Reinholz was a Forensic Science/Crime Scene Investigation major and graduated with a 3.98 GPA.  She was a 4x AMCC Academic All-Conference/Peak Performer, a two-year USTFCCCA All-Academic selection, was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma New York Theta Chapter in 2015 and earned the 2016 AMCC Faculty Athletics Representative Award.  She completed Hilbert’s “4+1” Criminal Justice Administration Master’s Program with a 4.0 and pursued a career with the Federal Government.

The Orchard Park, N.Y. native currently works for the Department of Homeland Security.  She has been with her agency for four years and is entering the next phase of her career with a new position in Washington D.C this fall.

Reinholz's experience at Hilbert is summed up perfectly by her father.  “I was impressed with the way Kylie’s participation in Hilbert’s Cross Country program prepared her for her current position with DHS in the sense that she learned the importance of dedicating herself to the structure and discipline needed to compete at a high level. The daily training rigors and long-term goals involved with performing at her best paved the way for Kylie to be successful in her professional life.”

The Distinguished Alumni Series is part of the AMCC's 25th anniversary where the conference will be recognizing former AMCC student-athletes who have excelled in their area of study. The Distinguished Alumni Series will run every Thursday throughout the academic year.
