AMCC 25TH ANNIVERSARY DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI SERIES: RENO CHESHIRE, ALFRED STATE

Armed with an unorthodox sidearm delivery, 2018 Alfred State College graduate Reno Cheshire made 25 appearances out of the bullpen during his career wearing the blue & gold. After graduation, Cheshire transitioned to providing relief to others as a nurse.

Cheshire was part of the Alfred State baseball program for three years as the team made the move into the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference in 2018. In his career, he pitched 19.1 innings and was 1-0 during his time on the mound.

Cheshire went right into the medical field after Alfred State. He has served patients in different parts of New York, served patients during the COVID pandemic, and has spent time in Haiti on a medical mission trip.

He started his career working at Strong Memorial Hospital (Rochester, NY) in Neurology before moving to FF Thompson (Canandaigua, NY) to become a floating nurse. These days, Cheshire is a traveling nurse and a student at Daemen College pursuing nurse practitioner degree.

Taking the lessons learned in the classroom and on the field has led Cheshire to a passion for helping others.

The Distinguished Alumni Series is part of the AMCC's 25th anniversary where the conference will be recognizing former AMCC student-athletes who have excelled in their area of study. The Distinguished Alumni Series will run every Thursday throughout the academic year.
