PITT-BRADFORD ATHLETICS DONATES CANNED GOODS TO THE FRIENDSHIP TABLE

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford athletic department delivered three truckloads of canned goods, donated by Pitt-Bradford student-athletes and coaches, to the Friendship Table in Bradford before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Under the direction of administrative assistant Rachel Frisina and SAAC, Pitt-Bradford's 13 intercollegiate athletic teams competed to see which program could collect the most items to donate. The result was three trucks full of donated goods which were brought to The Friendship Table in Bradford. The top teams in terms of items donated were the men's lacrosse and softball programs. The donations were delivered to the Friendship Table by athletics staff on Monday.

"This was a great initiative for our entire department to be a part of," said athletic director Bret Butler. "projects similar to this are a great opportunity for our student-athletes to forge a connection to our local community, while also helping those in need, especially around the holidays."
