PENN STATE BEHREND CLAIMS 17TH AMCC WOMEN'S SOCCER TITLE

Penn State Behrend senior forward Trinity Prestash scored all four goals in the second half to lead the No. 1/22 Penn State Behrend women's soccer team to their 17th overall Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship on Saturday. The Lions secured the title with a 4-0 victory over the Bobcats.

Behrend goalkeeper Riley Morningstar set the single-season record for shutouts with 12, only needing to make two saves in 90 minutes.

After a scoreless first half, Prestash and Marlene Andrade took over the next 45 minutes of play for the Lions. Behrend netted the first three goals off corner kicks taken from Andrade and scored off headers by Prestash. The Lions scored in the 52nd minute to get on the board and then tallied the second corner-kick goal by the duo 12 minutes later. The corner kick/header combo worked one more time in the 67th minute for a 3-0 lead, before Prestash scored on a half bicycle kick inside the box to make it 4-0. Behrend defender Nicole Croushore registered her first assist on the season, sending the ball into the box for Prestash with 11 minutes left to play. It marks the third time this season Prestash has scored four goals in a game to give her 27 on the season.

Behrend held a 27-10 shot advantage, scoring four goals on 11 shots in the second half.

It marks the second straight AMCC crown for the Lions, earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Lions will await the NCAA Division III Tournament selection show on Monday at 2 p.m.
